It’s likely you follow a few influencers. Men and women who have massive followings, they are witty, insightful and seem to be made for the stage.
Experts you admire and yet, more than once, you’ve wondered what they did to gain the following they have.
One thing is for sure, the great majority of well-known influencers started out as complete unknowns.
Unknowns who somehow, someway, went from total obscurity and likely struggling financially, to world renowned, financially successful public figures.
Influencers are often the people we choose to invest our money with for products and services. Amazingly, the two may go hand in hand. The more you follow an influencer, the more you tend to trust them. The more you trust them, the more secure you feel in your decision to part with your hard-earned money.
In the past, people were much more inclined to make buying decisions without putting much thought into their decision. Yet, today, due to the downturn in the economy, the pandemic and so much global uncertainty, many people are more cautious about their buying decisions.
WHY PEOPLE SAY “YES!”
Have you given thought to what it takes for someone to press the “buy” button for anything from a $10 item on up to a several thousand-dollar service?
Have you analyzed your own buying habits? Are you aware of what triggers you to push the buy button? If not, after listening to Episode 230 of the Vegan Visibility show, you’ll likely see things a bit differently.
Recently, I’ve made purchases for an online course and training and a couple of books. Yet, it took more than simply seeing an offer for me to say, “Yes!”
I thought through my purchase to determine if I would, in fact, use the information I was about to invest in.
COMPETITION IS FIERCE
In today’s world of online activity, there’s a lot of competition, noise, and hype. In addition, more people are asking themselves if they really need to buy whatever it is they are considering. It may not have much at all to do with the price, as in the case of a very low-priced digital product.
It may have to do with the fact there are so many choices of who to buy from.
An abundance of choice often leads to confusion and a confused mind often says, “No!”
Factors in the buying decision may have to do with time as well as similar products available from other experts.
On the flip side, if you’re the one making the offers, there are steps you can take to improve your chances of standing out in a way that people feel comfortable saying yes to your offer.
Now, more than ever, people will follow someone for a while before making their buying decision. When they find an expert they are aligned with, they often search out more information before hitting the buy button.?
For example, if they were first introduced to someone by way of a podcast show, they may search for other shows the expert appeared on, explore YouTube, look for them on social media and visit their website.
When there is a lot of content available, many people tend to binge on their content.
MY RECENT CHOICE
Recently, I bought a program from Michael Sandler. He is the host of Inspire Nation Show on YouTube. He also teaches an automatic writing course, is an author and a delight to listen to.
I’ve been toying with the idea of investing in his automatic writing program for over a month. Even though I’ve been a fan of Michael’s for over a year, my hesitancy in making the purchase had nothing to do with Michael’s credibility or the cost of the program. It had to do with my own time constraints.
While waiting to make the decision, I continued to consume his podcast episodes while on my morning runtime.
Michael has a huge following. This didn’t happen by chance, but rather by the fact he continually creates content. The very content people like myself can consume at our leisure before making an investment.
I’m confident I’m not the only one who lets the idea of an investment percolate before saying yes.
I’m also confident many people are like me; they consume podcasts episodes and videos on YouTube while the contemplate their decision.
Of course, there will always be impulse buyers. There are plenty of people that just hit the buy button. Yet, many impulse buyers rarely use the very programs they got an adrenaline rush from buying.
KEY QUESTIONS
To make the best choice for your personal and professional needs, ask yourself a few key questions.
BUILD A LOYAL FOLLOWING
As a result of digging into Michael Sandler’s Automatic Writing course, I went down a bit of a rabbit hole searching for information about one’s Dharma.
I was first introduced to the concept of one’s Dharma by Wayne Dyer. Hearing Michael talk about it got my curiosity up. As I searched for information, I came across Sahara Rose. I happened upon a podcast interview.
After listening to the episode, I searched out more information. I was amazed at how much content Sahara has created.
Once I was exposed to one piece of her information and I really liked it, I wanted more and more and more.
People will feel the same about you. Yet are you providing enough content for them to consume or are you sporadically creating content?
To make it easier for people to invest in your products and services, you absolutely must be consistent in getting information out to market.
When somebody likes your information, and they resonate with your message, they’re going to look for more and more and more.
I encourage you to determine what content you can put out to market.
Do people want short form content or long form? Do they want audio, video, or written content? Are you making it easy for people to feel like they know you based on how authentic you are?
I encourage you to determine who you want to reach as well as who’s going to benefit from your information. And most of all, consistently create high value content.
The more consistent you are, the more those who align with your message will become a part of your community.
