#23 - What are you Marching towards?

Welcome to the 23rd edition of?The?MAD?Performance Newsletter,?in which I'll share thoughts and resources that can help you towards a more Mindful and Deliberate way of approaching life, leadership, learning and high performance.

As the first quarter of the year unfolds, March is an ideal time to step back and assess how closely you’re sticking to the goals and intentions you set in January. The enthusiasm of a new year may have faded, but this doesn’t mean your progress has to stall. Instead, it’s an opportunity to course correct while you’re only a few degrees off track, rather than waiting until you’ve drifted so far that change feels impossible.

Without a mid-point check-in, it’s easy to find yourself coasting—reacting to daily demands rather than actively shaping your trajectory. Take a moment to reflect:

  • Am I consistently taking action towards my goals?
  • Have I unknowingly deprioritised important habits or behaviours?
  • What small shifts can I make now to realign with my intentions?

The goal isn’t to start over, nor to criticise yourself for where you are. It’s about awareness, adaptability, and intention—three elements that separate high performers from those who merely go through the motions. Perhaps you need to redefine priorities, adjust your approach, or recommit to a habit that was working but slipped.

The good news? A small pivot now can make a massive difference by year’s end. March is your chance to take control—before another quarter passes you by.
