A Revelation

I had a recent revelation regarding air pods and a swim mask.? You see, my birthday was a couple of weeks ago, and my husband gave me these two awesome? birthday gifts.? The revelation came when I used both of these items for the first time, and was this: by not? purchasing these items sooner for myself, I unintentionally lowered the quality of my swim workouts and also zapped the enjoyment of my playlists. ? I didn't realize that going along with the status quo was costing me joy.? Bam!? I was hit between the eyes as I enjoyed swimming laps? and then later that night loudly singing “I Ain’t Worried” in my neighborhood as I walked the dog.??

Here’s the lesson from my revelation to help you in your career. ? Often we go along with the status quo, accepting subpar career experiences and growth. We may tell ourselves, “Yeah, I’ll get to that.? I’m making a change soon.? Just not right now.”? The problem is not making a decision is making a decision.? It’s accepting the status quo, which is a no win situation.? Anytime we don’t choose growth and delay a decision, we’re really choosing decay.? We unintentionally lower the quality of our professional journeys by not seeking the support we truly need.

Don't let the fear of change or the comfort of the familiar hold you back. Embrace the power of investing in yourself and your career.
