22 Things I’m Leaving Behind in 2022

22 Things I’m Leaving Behind in 2022

22 things I’m leaving behind in 2022

Which one are you leaving behind?

1. Self-doubt, Self-hate — Just stop it!?

This thinking doesn’t serve you or anyone around you. Don’t allow the negative thinking to eat you up on the inside. This is the biggest thing I will be leaving behind after the trauma I have experienced in the past few years that left an emotional scar. I’ve been doing the deep inner work and will continue to peel away the layers. I know my scars can help others with similar challenges to heal. Why I’m so passionate about The Feldenkrais Method and Somatics.

?

2. Fear of trying — Get out of your comfort zone.?

The likelihood of it being as bad as you think it could be doesn’t really exist. Most of the time before I create a video, do a live video, or post on social media I have my fear hold me back, at times it stops me from showing up for my followers. 2023 I’m committing to showing up more, leaving that fear in the back seat, taking the wheel and driving towards my future. More videos, more live streaming, more sharing value.

?

3. Abuse against women — Times are changing, the shift started a few years ago.?

The “Me too” movement. In the past few years, I’ve seen some close friends go through abusive battles within their relationships. In the past, I also experienced being in an emotionally destructive relationship. I want to help women recognize the signs before even getting into a relationship that could head down that path. 4. Being a people pleaser

When you focus on helping others before checking your own energy levels it is selfish. We all have heard the metaphor, “put your mask on first”. Self-care is essential, if your energy is low how can you help others? It is selfish to not focus on yourself and your own self-care. Stop putting others before yourself.?

?

5. Feeling the pressure from society to look a certain way and follow a specific path.

The one thing we need to let go of is other people’s opinions of us. Stop thinking you need to be something you’re not because of what you believe society expects from you. This leads to point 6.

?

6. Following trends?

Build your own lane, the only way to stand out from the crowd in this noisy world. I’ve always gone against what’s ‘popular’. My community the?Movement Online Academy?is paving the way for the future in the online space, something new not seen before. I’m so grateful for the team I have helping me build it.

?

7. Easy fixes,?

Diets and quick body fixes that last less than a few days. For anything to really work it takes time and commitment to want the transformation. I believe there is a shift happening people are now seeking real long-term results. More people will be spending money on personal development. Great time for my Feldenkrais colleagues to step up. Find out how Feldenkrais can help you have long-term results, and overcome pain and discomfort. Helping you to regulate?your nervous system for long-term change.

?

8. Saying I don’t know.?

You are smarter than you think. Research to find out what you don’t know. Everything is figure-out -able. I was chatting with one of my clients the other day about this. It is important to keep a beginner mindset.

?

9. Not trusting the process.

This is an important one for anyone who has invested in a coach or personal development. Sometimes it is hard to trust when you can’t see what’s ahead of you. Trust your guide to show you. Trust they know the way to guide you through.?

?

10. Regrets??

We all make mistakes. I made one that changed the course of my life and ended up being for the better. Live and learn. Do better next time.??

?

11. Making my physical appearance a priority over my health and wellbeing

Nurture is my word for 2023. Learning to focus first on my health and fitness before showing up for others.

?

12. The mindset of ageing.?

You’re never too old to move easier. To get more comfortable in your own skin. Never too old to start something that inspires you. Join the?Movement Online Academy?to find out ways to move easier and heal your body for the better.

?

13. Body Shaming

Stop hating on your body. If you really don’t like some aspect of yourself, change it. Exactly what I’m doing in 2023. I’ve started already and am sharing my process. Follow my social media if you want to see what I’m up to. There are so many possibilities for change and transformation. If not now when?

?

14. Shallow thinking.?

Start asking more questions. Question everything. Growth doesn’t happen in a bubble. I believe this is the shift we are all making after the last few years. More of this is coming in 2023.

?

15. Clutter

I’m currently removing everything that doesn’t have a place in my house. Revamping every area of my home to be clutter-free. I now realise it is an ongoing process.?

?

16. Showing a lack of respect.?

Respecting another person’s feelings even if they don’t mean anything to you. You supporting them could mean everything to them. You get respect when you give respect. Treat everyone with kindness, we are all fighting a battle, others do nothing about it. Most people would never know the trauma I went through, and how low I became in my darkest moments. Every time it was a kind comment from a stranger that helped me move forward.

?

17. Procrastinating on my goals and passions.?

The difference between who you are and who you want to be is what you do.?Yes, it will hurt.?It will take time.?It will require dedication.?It will require consistency.?You will need to make healthy decisions.?It will require sacrifice.?You will need to push your mind and body to their max.?There will be temptation. But trust me it will be worth it.

?

18. Unhealthy habits?

We all know some habits hold us back. What about those we don’t know we are doing? Becoming more self-aware helps highlight our blind spots. Why I love practising Feldenkrais.?

?

19. Playing small – NO ONE benefits from you playing small.?

More than ever the world needs leaders to step up. There are more people asking questions than providing solutions. Do you have skills or knowledge that the world could benefit from? Share it.

20. Mindlessly scrolling on social media

At times I’ve deleted social media from my phone. Try it out. Helps stop the doom scroll.

?

21. Not prioritizing sleep

Research the circadian rhythm cycle if your sleeping patterns are out of whack. Basically, you go outside to look at the morning light and then at sunset. This helps your sleep cycle to be regular throughout the day.

?

This one is so important……

22. Not focusing on everything I have accomplished and positive things going on in the world.

I’m always working, finding more things to do. Thinking about where I want to be. Not acknowledging all I’ve accomplished over these past years. In 2023 more time will be spent on taking time to reflect on the amazing world around me and the beautiful people in my inner circle.

Is that you too??Are you too hard on yourself not for not being in the place you want to be?

?
