This #mondaymetaphorsfow is a call to action for all humankind. Today. Right now.
We all have stains on our souls - transgressions of all kinds. The murder of George Floyd is another example of the stains on our souls.
It’s time we call it like it is in this great nation. It will be more difficult for some than others to surface and own the covert biases, blatant prejudice, and hatred born of racism. We need to re-think how we think.
It’s time for each of us to do our part to eradicate racism. Ibram tells us the path to becoming an antiracist begins with self-reflection, recognition, admission, and challenging our fundamental beliefs.
It's time to acknowledge the stains on your soul.
So, where do you start? Here is the link to a shareable google doc entitled the Anti-racism Resource Guide loaded with resources organized around critical topics including parenting, memoirs, and research studies.
Think of yourself as a learner. I started reading last night. Anti-racism is life-long work for all of us, there is no finish line. May we continue to move forward, instead of backwards. Start somewhere. Start anywhere. Start now.
