2,125 IPM Does Not Define Cycle Ti
Several years ago, I had a customer asked us to quote a FANUC RoboDrill. The machine has 2,125 IPM rapid traverse and it was priced "a little higher than our competition". My customer then bought the cheaper machine with similar feed rates from a spread sheet. About two years later I got a call from the same person wanting to re-open the project. Bluntly, I told him nothing has changed from our quote. He then let me in on his story of their competitor was beating them and taking away work and he has FANUC RoboDrills. He asked if we could do a test cut on a FANUC RoboDrill of their part. After doing this, my customer realized there is more to a spread sheet than just speed. Within four months, we sold them six FANUC RoboDrills.
