21 Arrest Warrants Cancelled.
We keep getting asked to attend the removals unit (6900 Airport Rd.) by couples who have submitted their own DIY spousal applications. These couples are desperate to find any authourized representative or Lawyer willing and affordable to attend their CBSA interview with them! Normally the applicant has an arrest warrant on their file for previously failing to show for an CBSA interview. Their InLand Spousal Application is approved in principal and can't proceed while an arrest warrant is on file.
21 Executed Arrest Warrants in two months.
We know how to keep CBSA Officers at bay while our client's genuine InLand spousal is being processed. This client had an arrest warrant on file for at least five years.

If you receive a letter or email from Immigration telling you to attend an interview with CBSA you need to relax. Immigration does not remove persons, CBSA are the ones that issue the arrest warrants and remove people . Normally the information from IRCC states to continue processing the person's are to attend a CBSA interview. Immigration does not tell the recipient the appointment is to (EXECUTE) an arrest warrant. Execute is CBSA term I prefer cancelling the warrant.
Here is what happens. When you and your client enters a small room, the CBSA will tell your client you are under arrest, do you wish to contact your countries consulate? NO!
Once some documents are signed the Officer will release the client with a terms and conditions bond. Certain conditions are no moving unless you have informed CBSA (in person) prior to moving. Not working or studying without the appropriate permit. Must report for all CBSA appoinments, etc.

If you fail to attend you will be waiting forever to become a permanent resident of Canada. Immigration can't land anyone as a permanent resident who has an arrest warrant just to have him pulled over by the police five years latter who would be forced to arrest the client!
Most Lawyer will not attend these interviews because the interviews can take an hour or an hour and a half. Normally because the CBSA Officer keeps you and your client waiting. Time is money!
Trying to find a Regulated Consultant that has the experience of the procedures to make the client relax is difficult. Being present when the person who may have been out of status for years is told he/she can now apply for a work permit or study permit makes them smile from ear to ear! They appreciate my presence on one of their most scariest of days for them and start referring others to our office, immediately. Word of mouth advertisement is the best advertisement anyone can get.
I just want to say "TY, Lawyers for not attending or charging too much"!
