The 20/60/20 “Rule”

The 20/60/20 “Rule”

How do you measure leadership results? How do you spend our leadership capital?

Consider the 20/60/20 Rule. (The “rule” hasn’t been passed through the rule committee yet).

20 percent of your group will be resistant to your efforts, regardless of what you say or do. These are your crabs in a bucket.

20 percent of your groups will be behind you, regardless of what you say or do. These are your self-motivated performers.

The 60 percent is where the fruits of your leadership are found . . . or not.

Consider, that often the 20 percent of naysayers often have magnetic personalities. Oddly, more so than the top 20 percent. If left alone, the 60 percent will typically be pulled down not up.
