2048: Nostalgic Coffee

2048: Nostalgic Coffee

"Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads..." (from "Back to the Future")

Sales: (sipping a steaming coffee, looks out the window) You know, Doctor, I still remember when in 2024 we were complaining about having to use the CRM and fill out reports. Now the AI takes care of everything, huh?

CEO: (with a nostalgic smile) Yeah, my dear. And to think that back then it seemed like science fiction to us. Remember video conference meetings in Teams? Hours and hours in front of the screen, arguing over who had to share the screen...

Sales: Ah, good times! Now with 3D holograms it feels like we're all in the same room. But, sometimes, I miss that feeling of "distance" that we had before. It was easier to hide behind an email, take time to reply...

CEO: (Nods) True. And business trips? Remember the pleasure of visiting a new city, meeting clients in person? Now with virtual reality everything is so... aseptic.

Sales: yes, but at least we saved ourselves years of queuing at the airport and canceled flights! (Laughs) And then, let's face it, virtual reality has opened up a world of possibilities for us. Think of industry fairs in VR, international meetings with thousands of participants (Looks out of the window, full of nostalgic

CEO: You're right. Yet sometimes I wonder if we haven't lost something along the way. That human contact, those handshakes, those looks that said more than a thousand words...

Sales: Perhaps. But the world moves on, Doctor. We have to adapt, evolve. Remember the first smartphones? They seemed incredible to us, yet today we look at them with tenderness. Who knows what the future holds for us... maybe in 20 years we will miss holograms too!

CEO: (With a sigh) Probably. But you know what I miss the most? The paper. The feeling of leafing through a book, of writing by hand on a sheet... Now everything is digital, aseptic, cold.

Sales: Yeah. I still remember the smell of printed paper, the sound of pages turning... And fountain pens, what a passion!

CEO: Oh yes. Those were different times. Slower times, perhaps, but also more... human.

Sales: Well, Doctor, at least one thing has stayed the same: coffee. Even in 20 years, I imagine we'll meet here for a drink together, talking about the past and the future.

CEO: You're right about that. And let's hope that, among all these innovations, there is always room for a bit of healthy nostalgia.
