1 个月Good article. It’s my understanding that the main barrier to AGI is “relevance realization,” which is something that’s inherent to our biology. Even before data gets to our brains, it’s been sorted and filtered. I’m sure that can be solved, but it’s going to take different thinking and will probably require a lot of collaboration between programmers and neuroscientists.

On the topic of A,I., I am calmed by the fact that in 2007 even most humans didn't know they wanted a buttonless slab of glass to be their everyday companion, so the chances of even a ASI system would not have predicted the rise of the iPhone. As with all A.I. driven systems they are very good at reflecting what they know, and summarising that information into digestible chunks, but absolutely useless at giving predictive statements .... That is why A.I, will always be a tool for synthesising data collected from real people with real opinions and not a tool for generation of those opinions. Anyway .. hope 2025 treats you well.
