LBAB Community: Where the Report Came from

The top 100 Shopify Plus App Report was heavily, heavily inspired by Mary Meeker's annual Internet Trends report.?

Those reports always had something for everyone. Whether you were a newcomer who wanted to understand the landscape or a seasoned pro who wanted to gauge how things were changing.?

I hope to accomplish the same thing with the Top 100 report.

Over the last 10+ years I’ve helped build, scale been a customer of, partnered with, or invested in almost everyone on this list (and hopefully even more soon). But I STILL discover new tools and trends every time I put this report together.

The 2025 Edition shows you:

  • Where the market is heading (+ where your competitors are investing)
  • Which apps are gaining traction (+ which are losing steam)
  • How to prioritize your tech stack for maximum impact

And to be crystal clear, this isn't an endorsement of specific apps.?

It's an analysis of + some commentary on how Shopify brands are actually using the apps all around us.

Let’s Analyze the Top 100 Apps

We spent 2 months combing through this data, so you can see what apps brands with an est. $1m+ in annual sales are using.

Whether you want to see who the biggest players in each category are, or how big “that” tool actually is, we have it all for you.?

PLUS, we have new additions for you this year:

  • Install Growth over the last year.

Removed the filter of Plus brands (because “Plus” ≠ “big”)

Final Thought:

What surprises me every year are the apps that skyrocket to the tops of categories or the overall list that you don’t “usually” hear about. Judge.Me and Microsoft Clarity are 2 great examples from this year’s report. Every year, there are a handful of Apps that aren’t “on the scene” or making a lot of noise but are steadily gaining a ton of traction.?

While we don’t know how well these bizs are actually doing, we do know that a lot of Shopify brands are installing their tool.

Despite Shopify making so many changes to the App store recently and there being soooo many apps, we always want to see more new apps crop up and a couple take the market by storm.
