After what’s been a long time in the coming, Porsche has made the paradigm shift to electrify its highly-acclaimed 911 (partially). The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid becomes the first 911 to take advantage of the electric motor to assist its internal combustion engine. For the longest time, the Stuttgart-based marque stuck to its formula of simplicity, keeping forced induction and electrification at bay.
Over the decades, stricter emission norms, higher industry standards, and increasing competition meant that the Porsche 911 had to evolve. First to arrive was the turbocharger, and now, the time has come for Porsche to embrace the electric motor. Though the full electrification of the nameplate is yet to happen, the new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS will now be sold with the brand’s all-new Turbo Hybrid or T-Hybrid system.
What is the Porsche T-Hybrid system?
Blessed with a rich racing pedigree, Porsche knows a thing or two about bleeding-edge engineering and winning motorsport design. Armed with this inherent knowledge and a mountain of cash, engineers envisioned the all-new Porsche T-Hybrid system with high hopes. The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS has only one turbocharger, whereas the previous model had dual turbochargers.
Instead, there are now two electric motors – one housed within the turbocharger assembly, the other mated directly to the 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. The sole task of the 15-horsepower electric motor in the turbocharger housing is to prime the turbo, thus building boost without delay. This, in turn, should make the driving experience feel immediate and exhilarating.
The second electric motor of the new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS is capable of generating up to 55 horsepower and 150 Nm. These two electric motors are energized by a small 1.9 kWh battery and underpinned by a 400-volt architecture. This architecture allows the climate control system’s compressor to be operated without a dedicated belt drive. A separate 12-volt lithium-ion battery powers the car’s other electrical ancillaries.
How is the performance of the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid?
While there is a weight penalty of 50 kilograms over the previous model, the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS is certainly not lacking in the power department. Its 3.6-liter boxer engine alone accounts for 479 hp and 570 Nm – with a total system output of 533 hp and 610 Nm.
Porsche claims the 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds flat with the Sport Chrono Package, while its top speed is 312 km/h. The 400-volt electric architecture of the new 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid has allowed engineers to work their magic beyond just increasing banal values like top speed and acceleration.
Thanks to the performance-hybrid architecture, the reworked Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) system, adaptive suspension, and electro-hydraulic control system lead to balanced & precise handling. Further helping matters are the lowered ride height of 10 mm and the new sports suspension with its variable damping mechanism.

For good measure, Porsche has also thrown in newer & wider tires for improved traction. These thicker tires wrap around bespoke ‘Exclusive Design’ wheels with unique carbon blades, helping reduce the drag coefficient. All these mechanical upgrades will make a difference in the way the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS feels to drive.
What are the changes made to the design of the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid?
You would be wrong if you think there are a ton of badges on the outside of this Carrera GTS to differentiate it from the rest of the 911 family. However, a close look will reveal a new front bumper featuring adaptive diffusers and air-intake flaps for better aerodynamics. There are also active shutters directing cool air towards the radiators, closing automatically when not required.
The front of the 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid houses adaptive HD matrix LED headlights featuring over 32,000 individual light points. These headlights are not only sophisticated and high-tech, they also have a reach of more than 600 meters. The styling upgrades further include a revised & wider rear fascia with new grilles, updated light strip & ‘Porsche’ lettering, variant-specific sports exhaust system, and a redesigned rear bumper.
Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid Interior: Luxurious and tech-laden but still driver-focused
To restrict any unnecessary weight gain, the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid comes as standard with only two seats. If needed, buyers can opt for the conventional 2+2 seat configuration at no extra cost. Keeping the driver and driving experience at the center, vital aspects such as the controls and intuitiveness remain prime focus too.
Along with top-shelf materials and upmarket build quality, the design of the cabin integrates piano-style buttons and rocker switches. Adding elegance to this interior is the 12.6-inch curved display right in front of the driver, offering up to seven different viewing modes. One of these modes places the tachometer right in the middle of the display with five other gauges, just as in older 911 models.
The 10.9-inch screen in the middle of the dashboard comes with the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system. The PCM comes with several connectivity & streaming features such as Apple CarPlay with Siri, Spotify & Apple Music – all of which can be used without connecting your iPhone. For improved security, Porsche ID requires a QR code in order to log in to the PCM.
What is the price of the new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid?
The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid will set you back by at least AED 663,800 in the UAE. Of course, this will only get you the bog-standard Coupe model without any fancy optional extras ticked.
