2025 Annual theme # Be the One!

I have the pleasure of welcoming you into 2025 and announcing our Annual theme for the year

Before announcing the annual theme for 2025 I would like to appreciate the Lord Almighty for the gift of life in these past 12 months. That we are alive in a moment where lots of other people didn’t make it throughout the year should never be taken for granted.

To those of you who were here at the beginning of the year you will remember that our annual theme for 2024 was Close the gap. The reasoning behind this theme was we needed to look at the circumstances that are limiting us from getting job offers and instead of just blaming others we needed to self-introspect and work on those limitations on our own for example not having a drivers licence, a repurposed CV, inadequate interview skills, passport, adequate education, not having the certifications required.

I am glad many of you took necessary actions judging by the testimonies you have shared with me. I love testimonies and if you have something to share please do so. This is how we can always encourage others; even the bible says so in Revelations.

Now without wasting much time, our theme for 2025 is Be the One. This mantra captures the idea that becoming who you aspire to be starts with intentional action. The journey of transformation is rooted in the understanding that "being" involves a process of "becoming." You cannot fully realize your potential unless you actively pursue it.

Based on this reality be the one, literally means:

Take Initiative

Be the one who applies for the job. Opportunities won’t come knocking on your door unless you take the first step. This means crafting a compelling application that showcases your strengths and aligns with the role.

Stand Out in Selection

Be the one that gets selected. This involves preparing for interviews, demonstrating your unique value, and effectively communicating why you are the best fit for the position. Be the one that goes all out to prepare for the interview. Get new Interview regalia; invest in interview coaching so that you become the one they are looking for.

Engage in Networking

Be the one that attends networking events. Building connections is crucial in today’s job market. Attend workshops, seminars, and community events to meet industry professionals and expand your network. be the one that conducts informational interviews with industry professionals from your filed, Be the one that gets mentored…

Be Intentional:

Be the one that is intentional in your career choices. Set clear goals, seek out opportunities for growth, and make decisions that align with your aspirations. Until you set clear goals and align your actions with the goals you set, I promise you 2025 will just be another year without anything tangible in your life, you will continue to blame others for what you are not achieving.

Exercise Excellence

Be the one that exercises excellence in all you do. Strive for quality in your work, whether in your current job, during internships, or in personal projects. This commitment to excellence will be recognized and rewarded. The easiest way to scale the ladders of success is enshrined in this quality so be the one

Achieve Exceptionalism

Be the onethat is exceptional. Go beyond the ordinary by taking on challenges, pursuing additional training, and continuously improving your skills. Your dedication will set you apart from others.

Pursue Opportunities

Be the one that pursues and gets opportunities like jobs, scholarships or grants. No one is coming to live your life. The earlier you understand this, the sooner you take the necessacy steps to deal with those issues limiting you from getting the job or promotion that you so much desire. Be the one that takes the risk knowing there can never be a celebration without overcoming risk.

Finally as we move forward into 2025, remember that Be the One is not just a theme; it’s a call to action. It’s about taking charge of your career and personal growth. Your journey of becoming is within your control. Embrace it fully, and let this mantra guide you to new heights of success and fulfilment. Will you be the One?
