2025 is only six weeks away. I know it's scary… or maybe… a new year means a fresh start!
People usually focus on changing personal goals such as eating habits, improving their fitness, or paying better attention to how they spend money.
Another fresh start can be rethinking your company’s brand.
The end of the year is a great time to reflect on how your year actually went vs how you thought it would go. What worked? What didn't work? And how can you do even better in 2025? It's exciting and intimidating all at the same time.
Define (or Refine) Your Brand Values
So to calm some of your anxieties and worries, let's go through a couple of things you may want to consider with an updated brand.
1. Values: The first thing is to define your brand's core values or if you already have your values defined, review them for accuracy. This is a crucial step because your brand and what you do each day revolve around your values such as:
2. Vibe: Your brand’s vibe is all about how your brand makes people feel. If you’re a business that aims to help your customers find new ways to succeed in their business, then everything your brand does revolves around giving off a helpful vibe of being friendly and welcoming. Yet, if your brand is about achieving your client's fitness or budgeting goals, then your brand might come across as a bit more intense.
“Your brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room.” -Jeff Bezos
Craft a Brand Vibe That Resonates
One of my favorite things to do is help my clients define their brand personality. Pro Tip: think about your brand as a person, this person is your customer's first interaction with your business. What kind of personality does this "person" have? Is this "person" playful? Trustworthy? Bold? Whatever it is, it's important to keep it consistent with whatever channel your brand can be found on.
In addition to your brand’s personality, consistent language and vocabulary are important. Why? Because the language type and vocabulary you use can be considered an identifier. This means that when your audience hears the language or vocabulary you use, they might immediately think of you. This is exciting and a little scary, I know! So make sure you think this one through. Consistency is key.
Be Authentic
And lastly, remember to be yourself, and be authentic. Don't try to sound like someone else, or you might start to latch on to their brand style. After all, your ideal customers are reading and looking for you, so be genuinely you.
Rethinking your branding is very helpful, and sometimes… it's exactly what your business needs.
Ready to think about your brand differently? I can help out with that.
