World Hearing Day: Take a stand for accessible care
March 3rd marks World Hearing Day - an important World Health Organization (WHO) initiative that raises awareness on the often-overlooked issue of hearing loss. With a staggering 1.5 billion people affected worldwide and an additional 1.1 billion young adults at risk, the time to do something is now. This year, the theme – Changing Mindsets: Let's Make Ear and Hearing Care a Reality – emphasises the crucial need for accessible and inclusive hearing healthcare.
Why should we care?
Hearing loss is much more than just muffled sounds. It impacts every aspect of life, leading to challenges with social interaction, mental health, and even cognitive function. Early identification and intervention are key to minimising these risks, yet access to affordable and quality hearing care remains a significant barrier for many.

How does it work?
This check measures your ability to understand speech in background noise. You will be asked to listen and respond to speech as the background noise gets increasingly louder.?
Step 1: Take the check and set your baseline
Step 2: Train regularly for 4 weeks
Step 3: Retake the check to see how much you have improved
What results can you expect?
Our research shows that in 7 weeks you could improve your speech intelligibility by 20%. Regularly taking the progress check will help you track your results over time. However, it’s important not to be discouraged if you don’t see results straight away. Just like any skill, the more you train, the more you will improve.
We're in the press ??
It’s fantastic to see a growing number of people talking about the importance of hearing health with recent coverage in Hello!, Tech Rounds, The Telegraph, Music Tech, and Headphonesty.
