2024 Wrap Up

As we say goodbye to 2024 and welcome 2025, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on what has been another extraordinary year for Flexciton. Together, we’ve continued to push boundaries, driving the transformation toward autonomous semiconductor manufacturing.

Here are a few of my highlights:

This year, we proudly introduced Flex Planner, our revolutionary autonomous Production Planner, to the market. This new technology represents a critical step forward in realizing the vision of fully autonomous fabs and has already demonstrated significant potential in deployment.

Securing ￡1 million in funding from Innovate UK, as part of the UK Government’s Chips Act funding initiative, was a key moment. This investment will help us further develop Flex Planner and deploy it into its first fab, underlining the importance of our work in shaping the future of semiconductor manufacturing.

We’ve seen exceptional growth across our client base, with expanded contracts and new deployments into additional fabs. Consistently achieving KPI improvements for our clients affirms that our solutions are delivering real, measurable value.

Our thought leadership continues to gain recognition, with several features in high-profile publications like EE Journal, WIRED, EETimes, and Electronics Weekly. These articles reflect the growing influence of Flexciton in the semiconductor industry and validate our position as pioneers in this field.

Another significant milestone was the release of our second white paper, titled “Autonomous Scheduling Technology: Driving a New Era of Wafer Fab Efficiency.” This paper dives into our new technology foundation—Autonomous Scheduling Technology (AST)—a groundbreaking solution combining AI and mathematical optimisation to adaptively and dynamically optimise fab production.

A personal highlight for me was representing Flexciton at 10 Downing Street in October. Hearing the Chancellor of the Exchequer speak about the transformative work we are doing, alongside other leaders driving global change, was a deeply inspiring moment. It was a true endorsement of the impact companies like us are making, not just in the UK, but on a global scale.

This year, we also focused on understanding the semiconductor industry’s readiness for smart manufacturing through our front-end fab insights survey. The results painted a clearer picture of the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead on the path to autonomous fabs and are helping us shape our solutions to better meet the needs of the industry.

Finally, we launched an exciting series of independent webinars, starting with a panel discussion featuring experts from Seagate Technology, Microchip Technology, Applied Materials, and Critical Manufacturing. This series is already sparking important conversations about the future of semiconductor manufacturing, and we can’t wait to build on this momentum in the year ahead.

2024 has been an incredible year of progress and innovation. Each challenge we’ve faced has only reinforced our determination to revolutionise semiconductor manufacturing. I am incredibly proud of what the Flexciton team has accomplished and deeply grateful to our clients, partners, and supporters who have been part of this journey.
