2024 Wrap-Up: How Letting Go Helped Me Appreciate the Little Things

2024 Wrap-Up: How Letting Go Helped Me Appreciate the Little Things

As we approach the close of another year, I’ve been taking a moment to reflect on all the highs, lows, and everything in between that 2024 has brought. This year has been nothing short of transformative—for me, for my team, and for the families and clinicians I’m so lucky to work with.

From milestone celebrations to unexpected challenges, one thing has remained constant: the incredible people around me. Whether you’re a part of my Chatterbox team, a fellow clinician, or someone who’s simply followed along on my journey, you’ve been a part of what’s made this year so meaningful.

Celebrating Connection

A few weeks ago, the Chatterbox team wrapped up the year in true Aussie style with a day at Sydney Zoo. It was a chance to laugh, connect, and appreciate the amazing work we’ve done together. My team’s dedication to supporting families never ceases to inspire me. These moments remind me why we do what we do—it’s all about making a difference, no matter how small it might seem in the moment.

For families and clinicians alike, 2024 has been a year of showing up—through challenges, through growth, and through the little wins that make it all worthwhile. I’ve seen clinicians push boundaries to provide better care, families find strength in the hardest times, and so many of you embrace your own growth with open arms.

We’ve come so far since launching our Facebook page Thriving Therapists for Kids and our email newsletter Therapy Unpacked. These spaces have proven time and again that we’re all better together.

I’m thrilled to share that this year, we also launched our parent newsletter, EmpowerED. It’s been an amazing way to further strengthen connections with families, offering practical tips and insights that help them feel more informed and supported on their journey. Watching this space grow has been such a rewarding reminder that when we connect, we all thrive.

A Year of Letting Go

On a personal note, 2024 wasn’t just about professional milestones—it was also a year of learning to let go. My health continued to take centre stage this year, forcing me to step back in ways I didn’t think were possible.

At first, it was hard to let go of the identity I’d built over years of striving to do it all—running a business, raising four kids, and managing everything in between. But as I learned to shift my focus toward recovery, I found a new kind of joy. The little things—walking 10,000 steps a day, watching my kids grow, and even just keeping the house in order—started to feel like big wins.

While I’m still navigating this new reality (as many of you may recall from my previous updates), I’m ending the year with a sense of hope I haven’t felt in a long time. If you’ve been following along, you know the road’s been rocky, but with resilience, support, and vulnerability, we’ve weathered the toughest storms together.

Looking Ahead

2025 feels full of possibility, and I’m so excited to see what’s ahead. Whether you’re a clinician thinking about how to elevate your practice or a family looking for new ways to support your child, there’s so much to explore in the year to come.

And to my Chatterbox team—thank you for showing up, for your energy, and for everything you bring to the table. If you’re a clinician looking to join a team that’s passionate, supportive, and a whole lot of fun, we’d love to hear from you in 2025! www.chatterbox.com.au/careers/

To everyone reading this, I hope you take a moment to reflect on your own year. Celebrate your wins, acknowledge the hard days, and give yourself credit for all you’ve accomplished.

Cheers to 2024 and Beyond ??

As we wrap up, I want to leave you with this: life doesn’t have to be about “having it all.” It’s about finding joy in what matters most. For me, that’s family, connection, and the people who make every day brighter.

Here’s to a strong finish to 2024 and an exciting, inspiring start to 2025!

Let’s keep learning, growing, and supporting each other along the way.

Jen
