For us at J5Travel, the early client inquiry trend for 2024 indicates that it will be another year of growth in the luxury market segment. We are extremely busy already planning Summer 2024 trips and well beyond. Here's the skinny on our current business...

• SE Asia is making a comeback with several trips now in the works. We really haven't seen demand like this for Asia since 2019.
• Italy looks like it will reign again as most popular destination for Americans traveling internationally.
• Portugal has regained popularity. It's great value within Europe compared to many other countries. Slovenia likewise.
• Cruises are more popular than ever, from the regular Caribbean itineraries to the most adventurous routes to Antarctica, the NW West passage and many more.

And here are 5 random but genuine Top Tips for your travel needs given the demand we are facing:

• Try to avoid Italy in July and August, pricing will shock you. If you are bound by these dates, start work on the itinerary very soon.
• Bucket list trips such as Galapagos, most African safari countries, explorer cruises etc need to be worked on a year in advance. For example, most Galapagos cruises for the festive season 2024/25 are already sold out.
• Any time you are able to travel during a "shoulder season" no matter where the destination, embrace it. You will most likely experience better weather and value along with less crowds.
• Although demand is back for SE Asia, you will still find it the absolute best value at the luxury level in the entire world. I wouldn't expect that to last beyond this year.
• Carry-on only! (only half joking).
