2024: Our Biggest Year Yet...Here's Why! | SPS Technology Insider

2024 is drawing to a close, and we’re looking back on a year well spent! This was a very busy year for the SPS Technology team with new staff members, incredible projects across various industries and incredible networking opportunities at major global events!

Welcoming New Talent to SPS Technology

This year, we’ve expanded our team with exceptional professionals who bring a diverse range of expertise to our projects and clients.

  • Mohamed Abdou El Malky, now part of our Maritime and Offshore team, joined us as a Senior Shipbuilding and Repair Engineer and brings a wealth of experience in marine engineering and asset repairs.
  • Based in Brazil, Bernardo Opolski is a structural engineer supporting our engineering team on some of our most interesting Stadia+Arenas and Special Applications projects. Fluent in multiple languages, Bernardo’s areas of expertise make him a huge asset to the team, and we’re thrilled to have him on board!
  • Joe Quick joined the SPS Technology North America team to supplement our Stadia+Arenas team as Project Executive! Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is dedicated to delivering excellent project results and building strong client relationships.

A huge welcome to all of our new members and we look forward to welcoming more talented individuals in the New Year! ?

Strategic Partnerships

SPST is incredibly proud to announce our strategic partnership with Structural and Civil Engineers, Design 4 Structures. Like SPS Technology, the D4S team works across various industrial sectors and disciplines to bring that experience to every challenge. ?Engaged by SPST in the spring of 2024, we’re partnering with D4S to develop, deliver and improve technical SPS detailing in our stadia and non-maritime markets. This collaboration has already been instrumental to some incredible engineering projects, like the John Glaser Arena…

Speaking of Incredible Projects…

Take a look at some of our project highlights!

John Glaser Arena Renovation

La Salle University's arena reopened in October 2024 with our SPS Stadia+Arenas System, overcoming structural challenges and tight deadlines to provide a durable and comfortable space for spectators and athletes.

Michie Stadium Preservation Project

Early this year, we proudly announced SPS Technology’s involvement in the Michie Stadium Preservation Project at the United States Military Academy, West Point. With the project set to complete in summer 2026, we’re excited to see the enhanced fan experience at this iconic venue using SPS stadia decking - all while preserving its heritage for generations to come!

Our Global Presence

Our team and partners travelled the world spreading the news of SPS's benefits. In particular, our partners, Metalock and Megatherm, showcased SPS solutions at Navalshore 2024 and highlighted just how cost-effective and long-lasting our composite repairs can be!

And, together with Leo Maritime and SRC Group, we demonstrated how SPS is shaping the future of structural repair in the maritime sector at SMM Hamburg 2024.

We also welcomed our international staff to the SPST headquarters in the UK! One of the year’s highlights was welcoming Bob Quick, our construction expert, over from the US to share his knowledge with the steelwork installer on a major job AND the team from our partners Innovate Stadia.

It’s hard work being THIS in demand, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our clients, partners and team members for making 2024 an incredible year. Wishing you all a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year!

Until next time,

The SPS Technology Team

Congratulations David to you and everyone involved with SPS Technology. I see next year being even more successful. I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and especially a successful NEW YEAR.
