2024 in Numbers: My LinkedIn Year at a Glance!

I know I'm far behind other LinkedIn members or LinkedIn influencers, but number-wise 2024 was an okayish year for me! And I like transparency, so I want to share the figures with you. It may help you to learn. Or maybe you are just curious!
Follower Growth
This year I had the highest growth in followers ever. I started on the first of January with 23,890 followers. Today, on the last day of 2024, I can count 28,459 people in my network. So, I grew by 4,569 followers in 2024 and my average follower growth was 12 followers per day. Thank you everyone!
Impression Decrease
I posted over 300 times content in 2024 but the impressions on my posts went down compared to last year. In total, I achieved 1,967,511 impressions with my content in 2024. In 2023 I achieved 2,192,602 impressions. Interestingly, the LinkedIn statistics highlight an impression growth of 817,5%. Because this is not true!
As you can see the reach went down at the beginning of September. I think it's due to the well-known algorithm change on LinkedIn.
Engagements Growth
My total engagements increase slightly. In total, my network engaged with my content 41,973 times. In 2023 I just got an engagement of 40,751 reactions.
Engagement Rate
So, based on impressions in relation to engagements, the average engagement rate on my post in 2024 was 2,13%. Compared to last year (1,86%) I increased my engagement rate by almost 15%. So, that is an improvement but it's still low and it's a point I need to improve in 2025 again.

Most Successful Content
My top-performing posts based on impressions were the three following (see screenshot). My best post ever achieved 72,237 impressions. It was about Manipulated Reality Marketing with the Eifel Tower! But no post this year beat my post about quantum computing from last year which had over 205,000 impressions.
Profile Views
Almost 10,000 other LinkedIn members visited my profile in the last year. I hope it's due to my regular content contribution. But compared to 2023 (9,894) I only increased my profile views by 0,4%.
Conclusion
My conclusion is that content that touches many people is often the best-performing content. But I'm not sure I will stand for this content. Also in 2025, I would like to post about Innovation in Marketing and Digital Marketing, and I want to inspire marketing leaders to improve their marketing! Even if this content won't get high reach. It's about impacting people and not highlighting my personality.

2 个月Interesting to see your numbers. Have you ever seen a negative engagement on your post (I mean on posts) I have a one-time -250 engagement on my timeline. Anhy thoughts on that? What engagements don't take into consideration are the votes on polls which in my case a substantial amount.
