The 2024 Managed Service Provider 500

CRN's Managed Service Provider 500 list recognizes the top technology providers and consultants whose forward-thinking approach to providing managed services is changing the landscape of the IT channel.

The annual list is made up of three categories:

  • The Elite 150: These companies have extensive managed services portfolios, including on- and off-premises capabilities, weighted toward midmarket and enterprise customers
  • The Pioneer 250: These companies have largely built their business model around providing managed services to the SMB market
  • The Security 100: Spotlights MSPs with cloud-based security services expertise

Data security technology developer Cohesity's planned $7 billion acquisition of Veritas Software's enterprise data protection business would rank as one of the top data storage acquisitions.

Cisco Confirms It Will Lay Off 5 Percent Of Workforce As Product Revenues Down

Following a Reuters report published last Friday that Cisco was poised to lay off thousands of employees, the tech giant confirmed the job cuts this week.

During its fiscal Q2 2024 earnings call on Wednesday, Cisco said the layoffs would impact about 5 percent of its workforce, or about 4,250 employees, as it works to realign its organization to focus on "key priority" areas.
