In the blink of an eye, February is already behind us! Here we take you through?what's been happening at the School of Cybernetics!

We welcomed our 2024 cohort of Master of Applied Cybernetics. Meet the 13 students, coming from diverse backgrounds! Keep an eye on their progress as they delve into their studies!

We also hosted our first public talk of the year with Dr Meg Young from New York?on Public Participation in the Age of Foundation Models.

Additionally, the School was?honoured with an invitation to Parliament House, where we shared our expertise in Artificial Intelligence.

School of Cybernetics Invited to Parliament?

In February, the School of Cybernetics was invited to Parliament House to speak to our expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI). ???

This invite followed our 2023 submission to the House Standing Committee on Employment, Education?and Training?as part of the Inquiry into the use of generative artificial intelligence in the Australian education system.??

Universities Accord Final Report

On the 25th of February the Universities Accord Final Report?was?released, with 47 recommendations for Australia’s higher education sector. ?

Almost a year earlier, April 2023, the School of Cybernetics responded to the Australian Universities Accord Discussion paper. Through this submission, the School specifically addressed Questions 4 and 5 in the?Paper while unpacking experiences from learning design to recruitment, creating purpose fit education for the 21st?century, conducting impact-led research through non-traditional activities and outputs through partnerships and collaborations.? ?
