2024: End of Year Reflection

As 2024 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the incredible work and progress made across the organizations I’ve had the privilege to work with this year.

At Ruvos , our team’s dedication to innovative solutions in healthcare technology has remained steadfast, helping to ensure critical public health infrastructure thrives. In addition to celebrating our 20th anniversary, we also expanded our focus on global health initiatives, furthering our mission to make a meaningful impact on public health systems worldwide.

Working alongside the talented staff at APHL - Association of Public Health Laboratories , we’ve continued to make strides in advancing public health systems—a mission I am excited to deepen in 2025 in my new role as Senior Advisor for Informatics Strategy, focused on our country's critical public health infrastructure.

Locally, serving as the Chair of the Economic Competitiveness Committee of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce has reinforced my belief in the power of community and collaboration. I’m looking forward to stepping into the role of Chair-elect of the Chamber in 2025 working closely with Sha'Ron James (Chair in 2025) and continuing to work alongside incredible leaders to build a stronger, more vibrant region. I also want to thank Rob Clarke for his leadership and mentorship in 2024.

Through my involvement with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend , Florida Association for the Education of Young Children (FLAEYC) , Children's Forum , Domi Station , The Children's Movement of Florida , and the Florida Technology Council , I’ve witnessed firsthand the passion and commitment of individuals working tirelessly to improve education, strengthen families, and drive innovation. Each of these organizations embodies what it means to serve with purpose and dedication.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the love and support of my amazing family. My wife, Jessica Gonzalez Loumiet , has continued to grow in her profession and make an impact at Maclay School , and I couldn’t be prouder of our kids, Raquel and Meyer, for their hard work and achievements in and outside of school this year. They inspire me daily and remind me of the importance of balancing (work in progress!) professional endeavors with cherishing what matters most—la familia.

Looking ahead, I remain focused on community, education, and healthcare technology as the pillars of our collective success. These areas hold immense potential to drive meaningful change—not just for the present, but for future generations.

Here’s to the staff, leaders, volunteers, and loved ones who inspire me daily (see some referenced below). Thank you for making 2024 a year of impact, and here’s to an even brighter 2025.

Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season and a prosperous New Year!
