2024 Colts' Mock Draft #2: Whoa.
Another Week, another Indianapolis Colts mock draft. As always, I am using the PFF official Mock Draft Simulator. Here are the results for a 4 round draft:
Pick 15 - Malik Nabers: An absolute steal at pick 15 with Malik Nabers. Nabers caught 89 passes, 14 for touchdowns and provides a fast and vertical threat for a Colts' receiving room that would now have 4 good receivers. There is also a scenario where, if he falls, the colts get an absolute haul to get one of the best receivers in the draft, for pick 15.
Pick 42 - Traded to Minnesota
While there is good depth at some positions in this draft, the Colts' were put in a spot where the best D-Line and best Corner depth was off the board for this level of a pick. I moved the assets into the future, to get 4 good swings to hit a home run. These picks project to be 108, 129, a 2025 2nd (51), and a 2025 3rd (84).
Pick 82 - Dwight McGlothern: A big, press cornerback at 6'2" and 190 pounds. He has a huge wingspan and has an eye for the ball.
Pick 108 - Michael Hall Jr.: Hall is a small interior lineman, who has good agility and acceleration. His run-stopping is his best attribute, but he will need to work on his pass defense to perfect his craft at the next level. He will either need to cut some weight, or put on a few pounds to solidify his position one way or another.
Pick 117 - Justin Eboigbe: Another interior lineman, who also can slip out to edge. Very good against the run, but his lateral directionality, and his ability to change directions make him a bad pass rush player. At 6'5" and almost 300 pounds, Egoigbe, will again have to bulk up a little to play interior in the NFL. Another Big D-line pick up for Chris Ballard who lives in the trenches.
Pick 129 - Jordan Travis: A 6'1" athletic QB coming out of a downtrodden ACC conference, who at one point, projected to be a top 50 pick in the draft. When Mike Norvell took over at FSU he was able to help Travis refine his passing abilities, and if not for injury this season, would've had Florida State competing for a national title. He will be 24 at the time the season starts, but he has high upside as a backup to AR5.
As you can see, I got an A+ from PFF.com, but what do you think? What did I get right? What did I get wrong? Who should the Colts be targeting at pick 15?
?? "The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today." - Franklin D. Roosevelt. Great insight on the Colts' mock draft! This surprise pick at #15 could very well shape the future of the team. ???? Keep sharing your thoughts, they're incredibly valuable to the sports community! ??
