2024 Channel Technology Map Launch

2024 Channel Technology Map Launch

In 2023, Channel Program took on the task of introducing the first-ever Channel-specific technology map, designed to help IT professionals visualize the vast and complex technology landscape. This concise, one-page Super Graphic cataloged 712 products and services from 657 vendors, all discoverable on Channel Program’s marketplace of Technologies.

Building on the success of this initial project, Channel Program launched a suite of innovative tools to help further simplify the process of discovering new products and services (StackCharts), visualizing and managing technology stacks (NaviStack), and gaining better control and management over vendor contracts and subscription expenses (MyITSpend).

As a result, the tools have been adopted by thousands of IT professionals and have fueled a significant surge in user-generated data. The 2024 Super Graphic includes 1179 products and services from 990 vendors. This data growth has allowed us to dramatically increase the utility of the 2024 Channel Technology Map, incorporating never-before-published industry insights, which we have aggregated to share back to the channel community through this comprehensive Channel Map and 60+ page Vendor Report.

Sneak Peek of the new Interactive Experience:

Key Take Aways

?? The IT service provider space (MSPs, MSSPs, VARs, Consultants, Systems Integrators, Resellers, and Trusted Advisors) has seen significant advancements across multiple product categories in recent years, driven by the need for scalable, secure, and flexible solutions.

?? Categories such as Authentication and Backup & Recovery have evolved to incorporate AI-driven automation, behavioral biometrics, and enhanced encryption techniques, with IT providers prioritizing Zero Trust, Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) to protect against increasing cyber threats and regulatory pressures. The rise of hybrid and cloud-based environments has spurred further integration of self-healing, automation tools to streamline operations, reduce downtime, and ensure rapid responses to potential disruptions. As these areas mature, the demand for robust, AI-powered tools that enhance security, scalability, and efficiency continues to grow.

?? Simultaneously, IT service providers recognize the importance of building proactive relationships with vendors, seeking strategic partnerships that provide deeper collaboration, robust channel enablement, and long-term support. This focus on active vendor-channel partnerships helps ensure both parties can adapt to evolving needs while maximizing value for clients.

?? Additionally, categories like Communications, Compliance, and Cybersecurity have seen significant growth and specialization. Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) has begun to lead the communications landscape, especially as hybrid and remote workforces demand seamless, scalable solutions. Compliance management has become a critical focus, driven by global regulations, with IT service providers adopting centralized platforms and automation to ensure adherence to privacy and data protection laws.

??In cybersecurity, the rapid evolution of AI-driven threat detection, Zero Trust architectures, and Extended Detection and Response (XDR) platforms highlights the need for proactive measures as tool sprawl and redundancy challenge providers. To address this, IT service providers are actively mitigating vendor sprawl by partnering with platform providers that offer integrated solutions, reducing complexity while enabling more efficient management of their technology stacks. This strategic alignment with platform providers helps streamline operations and fosters long-term scalability, ensuring they can deliver consistent, high-quality services to clients.
