2024 Amazon FBA Fee Changes

Starting on February 5, 2024, the small standard size tier will be measured at intervals of 2 ounces and the large standard size tier from 1+ to 20 lb will be measured at intervals of 4 ounces. The preceding changes will not apply to Apparel products. Additionally, the small, medium, large, and special oversize size tiers will be replaced by the new large bulky and extra-large size tiers with new weight and dimensions definitions. Starting on April 15, 2024, FBA fulfillment fee rates will be reduced for standard-sized products and large bulky-sized products.

Product eligibility:

Products priced under $10 will automatically receive Low-Price FBA rates. No action is required.

Fees Product Size Tiers:

Low-Price FBA rates have reduced fulfillment fees when compared to FBA. All other standard Selling on Amazon fees and FBA fees still apply.

Shipping weight for calculating fees for small standard, special oversize, and extra-large 150+ lb is based on unit weight. All other size tiers use greater of unit or dimensional weight. For detailed definitions of each size tier, go to product size tiers.

Changes to size tiers and fees:

The changes won’t apply to Apparel products. Additionally, the small, medium, large, and special oversize tiers will be replaced by the new large bulky and extra-large size tiers with new weight and dimensions definitions. The greater of unit weight or dimensional weight will be used to calculate fees for large standard, large bulky, and extra-large units, except for extra-large 150+ lb. Small standard and extra-large 150+ lb use unit weight to calculate fees.

Starting on April 15, 2024, FBA fulfillment fee rates will be reduced for standard-sized and large bulky-sized products. The chart below shows the new rates and size tiers that will apply starting on February 5, 2024, along with new rates starting on April 15, 2024.

FBA fulfillment fees for Apparel

Starting on February 5, 2024, we will introduce large bulky and extra-large size tiers. Starting on April 15, 2024, FBA fulfillment fee rates will be reduced for standard-sized and large bulky-sized products. The chart below shows the new rates and size tiers that will apply starting on February 5, 2024, along with new rates starting on April 15, 2024.

Fulfillment fees for dangerous goods:

FBA has separate fulfillment fees for dangerous goods (also known as hazardous materials or hazmat) that require special handling and storage. For more information, go to FBA Dangerous Goods program and Dangerous goods identification guide.

Starting on February 5, 2024, we will introduce new more granular rate cards for standard-sized products and introduce large bulky and extra-large size tiers. FBA removal/disposal order fee changes:

FBA removal and disposal fees are calculated when a removal or disposal order is placed, and charged when the shipment leaves Amazon’s fulfillment centers. If you place a removal or disposal order before February 5, 2024 the new fees won’t apply, even if the shipment is completed on or after February 5, 2024.

Storage utilization surcharge changes:

Starting June 1, 2024, products that are auto-replenished by Amazon Warehousing and Distribution are eligible for a storage utilization surcharge waiver. This change will first be reflected in July 2024 charges for storage that occurs in June 2024.

Referral fee changes:

We will reduce referral fees for apparel products priced below $20. For items priced under $15, we will decrease referral fees from 17% to 5%. For products priced between $15 and $20, we will decrease referral fees from 17% to 10%. Other referral fees will remain unchanged. These reduced fees will apply starting January 15, 2024.

FBA inbound placement service fee:

The table below outlines the per-unit FBA inbound placement service fees. When you create your shipping plans, you’ll see a fee estimate for each available inbound placement option. The fee will vary based on the following:

  • Item size: Whether the item is small standard, large standard, or large bulky.
  • Weight: Unit weight for small standard. The greater of dimensional weight or unit weight for large standard and large bulky.
  • Number of locations tier: Minimal, Partial, or Amazon-optimized shipment splits.
  • Inbound location: The fee range will vary by inbound location (that is, the location of the fulfillment center). For instance, there may be higher fees for shipments sent to inbound locations in the West versus other parts of the country
