Applications for the 2023 YWE Awards are due this Friday, January 5th, 2024 at midnight MST!

The annual YWE Awards are looking to recognize women working in Alberta's energy sector?who demonstrate the following:

• Leader: Exhibits drive, motivation and a desire to lead including through professional development activities;
• Pioneer: Demonstrates vision, leadership and an entrepreneurial spirit;
• Innovator: Proposes innovative or new initiatives;
• Top Performer and Influencer: Makes a difference in the industry and greater community.

This is an opportunity to demonstrate why you should be recognized for your hard work (an opportunity to brag about?yourself!), and how you'll use the Awards platform and mentorship program to advance. Tell us your?career aspirations and how you intend to continue to impact the Industry in the future.?

YWE Awards Criteria

• All applicants must identify as female or non-binary.
• All applicants must work and reside within Alberta.
• All applicants must have between 5-15 years of professional experience (age 40 or under as of December 31, 2023):A minimum of 3 years of energy-related experienceStudent, CO-OP placements and internships are excluded
• Applicants must work "in" or "for" energy, (any form) or at an energy-related service provider

Required Documentation

A complete application consists of the following 4 components:

1. Personal Statement (max. 500 words)
2. Professional Reference from an existing employer or client (max. 250 words)
3. Peer Reference (max. 250 words)
4. Current Resume (max. 2 pages)

***Word counts and page limits will be enforced to ensure all applicants are within equal scope. ?

Please submit a single PDF containing all 4 documents combined, named "LastNameFirstName_2023?YWE Awards Application.pdf" and e-mail to [email protected] by midnight MST on January 5, 2024. In your submission email, please acknowledge you have met each of the criteria.

Each year, YWE engages with six (6) senior executives for their expertise and leadership to?help identify the top young women in Alberta's energy industry to receive the recognition?and benefits of a YWE Award Winner.?The 2023 Executive Selection Committee?includes:

Selection Process

1. Award applications will be accepted until Friday, January 5, 2024, at midnight MST.
2. Peer and Executive Selection Committee Reviews occur between January 10 - February 5, 2024
3. YWE Award recipients will be notified the week of February 5th, 2024
4. An announcement will be made to YWE members and the public via a?press release, social media and e-mail to members on March 4, 2024 just ahead of International Women's Day.
