First things first. A very happy new year 2023 to you, your family, colleagues and folks from us in Krystal Ventures Studio.
Last year was Year Zero for us. The biggest learnings for us as we put together the pieces are as follows:
- There is an organizational velocity: Organizations, right from birth, acquire a collective velocity. This comprises of founders, employees, partners, investors and clients. In our case, investors and startups are our clients. Anything that beats the organizational velocity is an outlier or an act of craziness.
- Looking within than looking around: While most of us look around to start, things began to fall in place when we started to look within. The answers were with us, and any search outside added to the chaos. Internal confusion led to clarity.
- There are people who believe in you: No matter what people say, an USP is a discovery process, and is always tested by time. But, to start, you need only self belief. But what is also equally important is that there are people who believe in you. We had faith in ourselves and we got there - with the people who believed in us.
- Trust your team: Some teams get together by design, some by destiny. But the glue that holds the team is trust, and trust is the yardstick of progress.
- Self discipline is key: Organizations grow evolving systems and processes. But the best guideline is self discipline. Self discipline is also the foundation of trust building.
- Look forward, like life: Life is always lived forward and understood backward. Hindsight is good, but execution works only forward. Mistakes are made and things are learned, but to act is to move on and forward.
We believe 2022 laid the foundation for a great 2023 for us. We also wish you the same.
