2023 Women's Equality Day - A Message From Our CEO

I am Avani D. , and my professional journey has largely been influenced by my various experiences with inspiring women along the way. Back in the early stages of my career, I found myself navigating male-dominated environments—strong female role models were scarce, and many of the women who were in senior positions seemed to conform to a mold they believed was necessary to succeed in a man's world. I was determined not to follow the same path; I wanted to lead with integrity and stay my authentic self.

Fortunately, I had the guidance of several influential women outside of my work circle, most notably my incredible mother. She was a beacon of intelligence and instilled in me the belief that I could achieve anything I set my mind to. And then there were my amazing sisters who exemplified strength, determination, and resilience, thusly becoming additional sources of inspiration for me. Their unwavering support and encouragement have always been a driving force in my pursuit of leadership while remaining true to myself. I was also fortunate to have wonderful female teachers and professors who nurtured my confidence and never made me feel limited because of my gender—their influence further empowered me to pursue my passions in life fearlessly.

As I reflect on their invaluable contributions to my journey, I am also filled with determination for the future—a sentiment that’s closely tied to my hopes for my beautiful daughter. I want to create a world where she can grow up without limitations, where her dreams are encouraged and celebrated. I want her to witness her mother breaking barriers, embracing authenticity, and inspiring positive change. It is my sincere wish that she, too, will become a confident, compassionate, and empowered woman who makes a difference in the world.

That’s why I’m now driven to be a role model who fosters growth and development for others, especially younger women, just as my mother, sisters, and teachers were for me. Because although I had them to guide me, I did still personally experience situations where I was encouraged to suppress my self and voice, and I also witnessed others being held back or missing out on opportunities due to factors like their gender, education, and background—or even the way they spoke. Though I’ve always taken it upon myself to challenge these limiting behaviors, I believe that we all have a responsibility to call them out—as do all leaders. In my view, one's ability to thrive and achieve success lies in the freedom to be their true self and fully immerse themselves in their work. By creating inclusive and supportive spaces, we unlock the potential of every individual and foster a community where everyone can thrive. As I continue my journey with the support of my loved ones, including my mother and my daughter, I hope to lead by example, paving the way for a more equitable and empowering future for all.
