Taylor Swift has left fans eagerly anticipating what her next album might be after re-releasing Fearless and Red. She has provided clues, including an music video for Bejeweled as well as merchandise drops that suggest Speak Now may be next on her agenda.
Record-breaking songstress, Lauren, has performed 19 shows so far on her Eras Tour.
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)
Taylor Swift has long used music as an outlet to share intimate details of her personal life with fans. While she tends to remain private in interviews, the lyrics of her third album Speak Now contain numerous references to John Mayer, Joe Jonas of Jonas Brothers fame, and Twilight series actor Taylor Lautner; their relationships were referenced throughout its tracks - ultimately leading her to win two Grammy awards including best country solo performance/song with "Mean."
2021 saw Swift's re-recorded album hit #1 on Billboard 200 for the first time ever, featuring six unreleased tracks called "From the Vault." These include duets with Maren Morris and Keith Urban as well as an unreleased version of her hit track "Battle," which quickly became an instant TikTok hit in early 2022. Additionally, her release also marked her first-ever rerecorded album debuted at #1.
Taylor released three releases this year - her re-recording of Fearless album, Red (Taylor's Version), and Midnights album - and has been busy promoting them all as well as her upcoming tour dates.
Fans began speculating that Speak Now (Taylor's Version) might be up next on Midnights' re-release schedule in October after seeing Midnights' music video for their song "Bejeweled," featuring plenty of Easter eggs related to it in its title and cover artwork (the purple rose color matches up perfectly!). Furthermore, Taylor chooses an elevator on the third floor when entering her Cinderella character from within her music video!
Red (Taylor’s Version)
As with its predecessor re-release, Red (Taylor's Version) stays faithful to its original album. Finding differences may require close listening with headphones on, yet there may be subtle alterations: one or two notes may be louder in the mix; or the "wee-ees" on "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" may even become more annoying than before.
Taylor Swift fans know that her re-releases are not meant simply to boost sales or regain ownership of old albums; rather, their release serves to show her fanbase that they will embrace any product made from her hand, even slightly altered versions of albums released less than 10 years ago.
Swifties were thrilled when Taylor revealed during her Nashville Eras Tour show on Friday, at Nissan Stadium, that Speak Now would be her next re-release. Fans had already received strong signs that this might happen as wristbands given out at her previous shows turned purple while electronic banners used as welcome mats at entry were also bright purple hues.
Written between 18 and 20, Speak Now is an album filled with everything that defines Taylor Swift - her expressive vocals, charming humor and sensitive attention to love and loss. Re-releasing it should please her core audience while showing why it stands up as one of the greatest pop albums ever released. Look out for it soon before Taylor begins her world tour and catch some songs from this record on TikTok drops or her merchandise sold during concerts!
Fearless (Taylor’s Version)
Last year, Taylor Swift embarked on an album-rerecording era following her disputes with former manager Scooter Braun over purchasing and reselling master recordings without her knowledge or approval. Fearless and Red were both reissued following this change of heart from Taylor.
As part of her effort to take back ownership of her music, she recorded new versions of all the songs from her albums prior to Lover. These rerecordings have seen great success - topping charts and garnering critical acclaim alike.

Fearless (Taylor's Version), was the inaugural album released as part of Swift's Re-recording Series and featured both songs from her vault and an entirely new track called "Mr. Perfectly Fine." It topped the Billboard 200 chart, and became Swift's highest debut sales of 2021.
Fearless (Taylor's version) did not completely displace its predecessor album, but it did deal a serious blow to Scooter and Shamrock Holdings. Since its re-recorded album's debut, it has sold more copies than its original one had sold during its initial year of sales - outpacing Scooter by some 20 million units!
Taylor announced at her Nashville concert on Friday night that her next re-release will be Speak Now (Taylor's Version), set for release July 7. Speak Now was one of six studio albums from Taylor that reached No. 1, selling over 10 million copies worldwide, so its re-release should sell even better; bonus tracks registered with ASCAP and Sony Music Registry promise even greater fan delight!
Midnights (Taylor’s Version)
Taylor Swift fans know one thing for certain - she hides more Easter eggs than a drunk Easter bunny! Although her release of her re-recordings has been confusing at times - particularly their order - thanks to TikTok users like Nancy Drew they have managed to sort it all out!
On May 26th, Taylor Swift released Midnights (Til Dawn Edition). This expanded version features an updated remix of "Karma," featuring It Girl Ice Spice; unreleased material from her vault, including her cover of Bob Dylan's classic song, "You're Not the Only One; as well as a behind-the-scenes video showing her collaborating with multiple artists for this project.
Antonoff and HAIM return as contributors on folklore; newcomers Lenny Kravitz and Lana Del Rey also make appearances - an ode to her late-night vibes after having released evermore last fall; both albums topped Billboard charts simultaneously, making Swift the first artist ever to do so for two consecutive albums!
Though many Swifties predicted Speak Now or 1989 would be next for re-recording treatment, Taylor surprised all when she announced Midnights this week instead. While somewhat underwhelming compared to her recent releases of Fearless and Red this year, Swift keeps up her tradition of surprising and delighting her fanbase by dropping surprises and Easter eggs! If you happen to attend Eras tour this weekend you might even get the opportunity to hear some Midnights live for the first time!
Reputation (Taylor’s Version)
Taylor Swift has embarked on an ambitious effort to rerecord her early albums. Starting with Fearless from 2008, followed by Red (Taylor's Version) from 2012's Red album, fans have speculated which other records she will upgrade next.
On Friday, Swift surprised her fans during one of her Eras Tour stops in Nashville by unveiling an unexpected announcement: light-up wristbands distributed at Nashville's Nissan Stadium turned purple as an ode to Speak Now album; additionally, John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge overpass illuminated with this hue.
Swift made her announcement shortly before taking to the B stage for her solo acoustic performance of "surprise songs." Choosing Speak Now's "Sparks Fly", never played live before, she promised it would be released in its new form on June 7th.
Swifties were already abuzz about what her next surprise song might be. Rumors swirled that it may be Reputation, her sixth album released in 2017. Fans speculate that the number six and Swift's recent turning 30 might provide clues as to her next re-release; others have pointed to a recent merchandise drop featuring items from Taylor's old Taylor Swift era as evidence that Reputation could be back for another release.
