2023 Update: LinkedIn's most useful features for job seeking with directions.

Most people are aware that LinkedIn is a useful tool for job searching, but many job seekers are unaware of its most helpful features. Here are six features that can improve your job search:

1?? Download a list of your 1st connections.?

Directions:

?? Go to the "Me" section of your LinkedIn account and select "Settings & Privacy".

?? Choose "Get A Copy of Your Data".

?? Click the second option in the list.

?? Select "Connections" from the available options.

?? Request the archive of your connections.

Networking is often easier when you have connections with people you already know. LinkedIn can provide you with a list of your 1st connections you can mine for leads from your professional network.

2?? Network by engaging with content:?

Directions:

?? Search LinkedIn for job-related terms.

?? Filter for "Posts"

?? Go to All Filters > Author Company and add your targets.

Now you have a list of content creators from your dream companies!

3???Targeting career changers?

Directions:

?? Search for your target job using a job search engine or a professional networking site.

?? Filter the results to show only people who have experience in your target industry. This will help you find individuals who have made a career change and have relevant experience in your target field.

?? Add 10 targets to the "Companies" filter. This will help you find people who have worked for companies that are similar to your target companies.

?? Add 10 companies in your current industry to the "Past Companies" filter. This will help you find people who have worked in your current industry and have since made a career change to your target industry.

By following these steps, you should be able to generate a list of career changers who have made the transition from your current industry to your target industry. You can then reach out to these individuals to learn more about their career change experience and get advice on how to make a successful transition yourself.

4?? Know who's currently hiring

Directions:

?? Use keywords like "hiring" and your target?job title to search for relevant posts.

?? Choose the "posts" filter to narrow down?your results.

?? Use the "author company" filter to find?posts from specific companies you are?interested in.

Apply for the role and reach out to the person who posted it through direct message to inquire about the position.

5?? Conduct cultural research on a company

Directions:

?? A useful method is to reach out to former employees of the company. These individuals can provide valuable insights and perspectives on the company's culture.

?? To locate ex-employees of a specific company, one option is to do a blank search on a professional networking platform and use the "Past Company" filter to narrow down the results to those who used to work at the target company. Alternatively, you can also try searching online for lists or directories of former employees of the company.

It may be helpful to focus on individuals who left the company for a better opportunity, as they may be more likely to have a neutral or positive view of the company and be willing to share their experiences.

6???Salary Research

You can find salary information for specific jobs in Colorado by searching for the job title and the location "Colorado".?

The state of Colorado has a law that requires companies to disclose salary ranges, so you can use this information as a starting point for negotiations or to determine if a job offer is fair.?

However, it's important to note that the cost of living in different parts of the country may vary, so you may want to adjust the salary range based on the specific location where you will be working.?

This can help you get a more accurate understanding of what you can expect to earn in your area.?
