A year to remember! How was 2023?

EBACE 23

Reflecting on the past year, it was truly exhilarating for us at Leon Software to share a joint booth with PnrGo for the first time at EBACE 2023 in Geneva. This collaboration not only marked our debut as exhibitors, but also strengthened our presence in the industry. We were happy to catch up with people from Jetex and talk about the great integration that we develop providing our users with a unique Jetex agent chat functionality.?

The atmosphere was electric with a large crowd gathering near the Leon & PnrGo booth, showing immense interest in our offerings. Everybody at EBACE, thank you for joining us on this journey!

Air Alsie - joining Leon

At the beginning of the year, we were thrilled to implement Air Alsie A/S , a distinguished aviation entity with a rich history dating back to 1989, as a valued client of Leon Software. Their impressive fleet, which comprises models such as the Falcon 7X, 8X, 2000, Pilatus, and Eurocopter, underscores their commitment to excellence and innovation in the industry. Air Alsie's decision to join the Leon community serves as yet another testament to our continued growth and recognition as the preferred choice for large clients seeking comprehensive aviation solutions. We are honoured to collaborate with Air Alsie, enhancing their operational efficiency and delivering unparalleled service in 2023 and beyond. Welcome aboard, Air Alsie!

TAG Implementation

The proudest moment of?last year was welcoming TAG Aviation , a distinguished leader with over 50 years of expertise in business aviation solutions, into the Leon community. The smooth implementation process with TAG Aviation came mainly from the fact that Leon is also a great choice for large operators, which gives us a significant advantage as we already have the solutions that are preferred for a large fleet. Our flight scheduling functionality plays a pivotal role, enabling TAG Aviation to effortlessly manage their expansive fleet. Their global presence, unwavering safety standards, and industry recognition resonates perfectly with our commitment to excellence.

Thank you for being an integral part of our journey, TAG Aviation!

Cybersecurity news

In 2023, Leon Software took a proactive stance towards cybersecurity by not only refreshing our ISO 27001 certification, but also upholding the vast and stringent standardisation of processing and giving access to information within our internal company procedures. Recognising the paramount importance of cybersecurity, we launched our inaugural Cybersecurity Awareness Month, underscoring our unwavering commitment to fostering awareness and driving innovation in this critical domain.

Tips about improvements in Leon

Stay a while and listen

ADS Integration

Accurately estimating the price of a private flight is crucial, as the more precise it is, the more certain the profit. Given that shifting a departure by a day, or sometimes even a few hours, can completely change the cost, the historical data typically used by private operators can lead to highly inaccurate approximations, resulting in lost profit. In our ongoing efforts to simplify the lives of Leon users, since April, we have integrated with Aviation Data Solutions , the company behind the Airport Pricing Calculator. This integration introduces a new level of quality to flight cost estimation, allowing users of both platforms to access the most up-to-date information on airport and ground handling fees with just a few clicks.

With APC activated, users can obtain a detailed cost list for every airport in ADS's continuously expanding database directly within the Leon Sales Module. This replaces fixed cost estimates, providing a more accurate and dynamic approach to pricing. Thanks to the flexibility of our software, all that is required is to enter flight data—the calculation is automatic and instant, making it easy to use and supplying valuable information to the user.

Leon - the ultimate audit tool

Going back to Cybersecurity Month, renewing our ISO 27001 certificate is just one aspect of our efforts. As you may be aware, the "History of Changes'' feature is available in numerous areas within Leon, and we've introduced two new instances. This functionality provides comprehensive insights into alterations across the Sales, OPS, Crew, and MX modules, as well as in the Phonebook and Documents Manager. Look for the distinctive rewind arrow with clock hands on the inside.

As we value transparency, we’ve made it easily comprehensible by colour-coding them - user’s changes being green, updates - yellow and removals - red.? This not only positions Leon as an effective audit tool, but also proves valuable in relation to safety security measures. It simplifies the process of verifying information as needed. As time progresses, we are actively working to implement this feature in all pertinent areas, aligning with the evolving needs of our customers.

AviXpense integration

At Leon, we recognise the importance of a comprehensive business overview and are dedicated to providing our users with optimal value in this regard. That's precisely why, in September, we introduced an integration with avixpense . This integration offers users swift and secure access to crucial cost information, handling all tasks related to travel expenses, outlays, allowances, and receipt management. Crews can efficiently submit their expenses and necessary receipts, enhancing convenience for crew members and streamlining operations for the accounts department.

Tracking expenses becomes significantly more straightforward, eliminating the need to collect physical receipts or complete Excel tables. Now, it's as simple as taking a picture of a document and adding it to the system. While digitising your operations doesn't inherently increase transparency, it undoubtedly removes the hassle of dealing with paperwork, allowing you to concentrate on more critical tasks. Consequently, this lowers the possibility of errors and accelerates your workflow.

This integration provides access to vital information, enabling the generation of a clear, comprehensive report on your most significant daily operations. It expands your understanding of how much you spend on each flight, accounting for all costs involved.

Weight & Balance With Leon

To ensure the stability and manoeuvrability of the aircraft, and by extension, safety, it's important to calculate the mass, weight distribution, and centre of gravity of the aircraft. To simplify this process, we've made it almost fully automatic, instantaneous, and compliant with aircraft authorities' guidelines. While it's no challenge for an experienced pilot to fill out an aircraft balance sheet, Leon's functionality could prove useful to them nonetheless, as in case of changes, they will be able to take a quick look at different scenarios. Additionally, the flight documents are automatically generated and archived in the system.

Aircraft manufacturers specify and limit takeoff and landing weight of a particular model, both of which are essential for a properly executed flight. It's the aircraft's weight that helps decide whether to take off or land at a given airport - if the aircraft is too heavy, or the runway is too short, it might not be safe for it to get into the air. The distribution of the weight in the different sections of an aircraft is very important as well. Each of them has a specific maximum load, which affects the centre of gravity. Cargo and passengers need to be located in such a way that will allow us to achieve balance.

Leon offers highly precise Weight & Balance calculations for specific tails, if you want to know if your aircraft is on our list, contact our sales at [email protected]

Ferry flights in Sales module how to boost your work with empty legs

In 2023, we were certain to continue expanding the Sales Module. Notably, during Sprint 147, we added a new view - Ferry flights. If you anticipate an upcoming empty leg, you can promptly specify its desired price. Once set, this information becomes accessible through our API, utilised by external marketplaces.

This feature is exceptionally straightforward and, in our opinion, one of the most convenient ones. It significantly boosts users' workflow, enabling them to easily submit an offer for a leg with a predetermined price. This, in turn, allows them to concentrate on more critical tasks that demand heightened attention.

SSO for Microsoft users

Last but not least, a noteworthy feature we implemented this year is single sign-on (SSO) for Microsoft users. Now, it's possible to swiftly and conveniently log in using your Microsoft credentials, as we consistently aim to accommodate our users’ needs to the best of our abilities.

Configuring this feature is straightforward; you can find the option in the "Security" tab within the "General Settings" of the Admin Panel. Once SSO is enabled, and you've entered your company’s Microsoft-registered domain while selecting Microsoft as your provider, you'll be able to log in without the login and password generated by Leon. Additionally, there's an option to completely disable logging in with Leon’s credentials, using only SSO instead.
