2023 was reflective

This year taught me patience and how time heals wounds.?It is a good practice to set goals at the beginning of a season, but I ensured I made regular consultations.?Adding a buffer really helped because anything can happen. An illness, bereavement, loss of income, strategy change to name a few.
I read 25 books!?Am giving myself a pat on the back.?Am maintaining the same for 2024.?Thanks to colleagues, acquaintances and friends who recommended some of the books which were very insightful.?I learnt quite a lot and travelled so many places just by reading. Happy to share any snippets!
With delayed gratification, I decided to save more money towards my pension.?I will be sitting on my balcony, 15 years from now, enjoying beautiful sunsets while still being able to travel if not for a run, then for luxury.?The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People made me re-think about this.?
As a recreational runner, I cannot go out for a run without a water bottle for hydration.?I learnt to plan my hydration points given that’s the only water I have to sustain me for my run.?Whether it’s for 2 hours or more, that is all I have.?I use the same analogy even when I know I have some money but am constrained with when I will get my paycheck.?The grace to appreciate what you have and use it wisely.
Who can change the world??Talk of lawyers, activists and storytellers.?You could fall into any of the 3.?A compendium of thoughts while the night is calm, can turn your story into an article as you type away.?Your piece can be read by people you may never have met but still be a reflection of learnings that are inspirational and motivational.?So keep writing and voice out your mind as you have followers.
Climate change is a ubiquitous phrase and depends how you understand the term.?Am a silent activist and glad to keep learning more about what I need to do so that we can reduce our carbon emissions.?I believe small numbers can add to the data.?Learn more about food waste, food preparation and more about kitchen waste before we serve food.?I love gardening and if am not watering the plants, am probably weeding or adding more flowers to the space.?I am deliberate and conscious about the environment as we have to overcome the leaps and hurdles today for a green future.
Reading and writing are inextricably linked just like health and diet.?Sleep and running are intertwined as well, so this year I covered over 6,000km.?Gosh!?Where was I running to??While bringing all the good things together, I ensured I ate well, slept enough, accessorized with the right shoes and gear so as to have a great run especially during training. ?For those of you I met along the way, enjoying your run, jogging or cycling, let us keep doing the same with more vigor.
Whether you cycled, jogged, ran, read, graduated, retired, started a hobby, accomplished a milestone, am wishing you all the best in 2024!?There is joy knowing that you set a goal and accomplished it.?2024, here we come!
