2023 Reflection

#Neurodivergent | Certified ADHD Business Coach | Helping Business Leaders to See the Invisible
What an epic year of ups and downs I have had in 2023. Everything depends on perspective, as all things are relative. (Thanks to my fellow neurodivergent friend Einstein for reminding me of that.)
There was lots of highlights, including being featured in Forbes magazine, fast company, and a few live news appearances! While I may have not seen a ton of business directly result from that it was an amazing experience, and I proved to myself that I’m ready for the big stage… More on that to come soon!
As a coach, it’s my job to equip my clients to build systems that will support them for the future. A coaching relationship is a temporary one. I did such a good job being a coach, that many of my longest running clients “graduated“ this year. It is always bittersweet, but I am so proud of the growth that all of us have experienced!
I was definitely in creation mode this year, developing a new text message based course, material for a master class, as well as a high-quality webinar. Even though it was hard to accept that none of them panned out in the way I know they could have, nothing can take away the valuable experience I gained. And, none of my content is ever wasted. It is fertilizer for the future!
Despite the fact that my numbers plateaued on several platforms, we grew in other new ones. I’ll never truly understand the way that my friend “Al GoRythym” thanks, I know in my heart that I continue to put out high-quality content that is authentically me.
Admittedly, I broke the promise that I made to myself of not buying more professional development books ??- sorry that I’m not sorry, because I learned a ton of great new perspectives from them! (Now it’s time to follow through on them in 2024!)
This year was a reminder to me that group Coaching is incredibly powerful, and inspirational to me. My clients are showing up for themselves and each other, and I am excited for those who are reading this, to realize that there are others ready to support them on their journey. By the way, book a call with me, because we don’t have that many spots left!)
I’ve always believed in the abundance mindset, that there is more than enough opportunity out there to go around, and then some! If I put enough good out into the world ?? , I know that it would come back around. And the benefit boomerang certainly has come back, as a lot of very advantageous networking connections have appeared on the radar of my life, all of which I am grateful for! I’ve always considered myself to be a “Super Connector”, and I am finally finding ways to monetize that skill set. One of my favorite motivational quotes of all time is from legendary self help guru Jim Rohn - “You are the average of the five people that you spend the most time with.” That has proven to help me this year, as “high tide raises all boats“. (That includes you, because if you are reading this, then you are part of my network, and I deeply appreciate you!)
With all that being said, it has most certainly not been all sunny days filled with Dancing unicorns - This has been one of the most challenging years for me professionally. 2023 has served as a reminder that pain is temporary, and “this too shall pass…“ As I tell my clients, “It’s always sunny above the clouds – it’s just a matter of perspective!“
This year has also reinforced the very real/tangible power that visualization exercises have. (If you’ve never heard of “the secret“ or “the law of attraction“, it’s definitely worth an Internet search!)
My team and I pulled many levers, many of which didn’t work. And we learned a ton. And we still have a lot more to comprehend in the coming months/years. We always take a “beginners mind“ approach. While many people are afraid of artificial intelligence, I’m deeply grateful for it!
One tough realization that I had for this year was that the task list will never be completely done. It’s so important for those of us with ADHD to set boundaries on our time, because there will always be that “one more thing“ that our brains will tell us we should work on before we stop for the day.
This is your official reminder that self-care is not selfish… I’ve learned that it helps me to show up as the best version of me for those who I care most about.
