2023 Personal & Team Goals
Here are some of our Family Office Club's team goals for 2023, as well as a few personal ones. One of the keys to our growth has been having very clear annual, quarterly and monthly goals and then I laminate those and ready them daily while getting ready each morning, and having them taped to my computer monitor, and with me when I travel. Reading these every single day helps me stay focused and motivated as we get pitched 100x+ a week.
Top 3 Goals for 2023: This year we have grown our team to 25 full-time professionals, our quarterly investor club summits are now 2 days long plus cocktail hours each quarter, we will host 15 live events, launch our new investor portal next week, and we have raised our pricing so that you can be sure only quality peers and professionals are joining our organization. We are not going for 10,000-person sports arena events, we want high-quality, great people, in a moderate-sized community with a positive growth mindset, help each other scale, and learn from each other's expertise. The quality of the interactions and members is far more important than beating our chest about having 2,000 or 3,000+ people at our live events.
Here are our main goals as a company this year:
1) $250M of Transactions Closed - Last year I closed on $85M+ worth of transactions, and this year we would like to grow that substantially to $250M. To be clear, these are not all deals closed in the Family Office Club, these are transactions we source for our $1B+ balance sheet groups, billionaires, and close family offices we work with daily. We have set up over 200 family offices for clinics now, and we count transactions closed as short-term rental properties acquired by our InvestorResidences.com fund which has 83 assets in the portfolio so far, medical practices invested in through our Medical Clinic Capital platform, wealth advisory referrals made, deals source for our top 25 clients, and ugly motels acquired for our conversion group in that area. We have hired two senior investor relations professionals and I believe by scaling this part of our work the quality of our workshops will only improve, and our ability to quickly add value and provide insights with additional families and those raising capital will grow exponentially.
2) Billionaires.com - 100 Interviews Completed: 18 months ago we acquired Billionaires.com for $450,000 and yesterday we interviewed another billionaire. That was billionaire interview #20 in our series of 100 billionaire interviews which are conducted via email by asking just 3 non-invasive questions which are very helpful to our community. We hope to reach a total of 100 exclusive interviews that we have completed in 2023, so we can share those on Billionaires.com as we go and eventually release a book of 300 insights from all 100 billionaires that we interview. If you know of a billionaire or someone who works with many billionaires who can answer our 3 questions over email, we can thank you publicly on our website, on social media, and in the book for each interview, you help us secure. I don't know anywhere else where you can stream ideas from billionaires on demand for free, or where you can read a 150-page or less book and get 300 insights from billionaires, stated in their own words. If you have a way for us to quickly complete these 100 interviews I would be grateful for any ideas or help on this goal.
3) Investor Residences.com, LLC: Our investment fund now has 84 properties in the portfolio (70 through a co-investment), we secured some amazing deals last year, and we have a deal closing in 48 hours, and another oceanfront asset closing in February providing a 13% cash on cash return. We only have 50% debt to equity on average in the portfolio and are buying properties at 20-33% off their list prices by offering all cash and securing 3-6% seller-financing terms to take banks out of the equation whenever we can. We are finding 95% of investors have never reviewed a short-term rental property fund, and 99% have never been offered a fund where we make no money and charge no fees until you get all of your money back, and double your money first.
4) Medical Clinic Capital (MCC): While we do invest in other investor clubs since that is our core business, the only other area we focus on is multiple-location profitable medical practice platforms. We currently have equity in 23 locations doing $45M a year in revenue, and our goal is to complete 6 transactions this year to grow that in 2023 to 40 locations doing $100M+ in revenue. We provide growth capital to medical practices not ready to sell or partner with traditional private equity, and we have developed some proprietary structures which prevent excess dilution for owners of these clinics. We will work with medical practices of all types but are most focused on dermatology, dentistry, and oncology platforms. Right now we own part of a 6 location dental group doing $23M in revenue and a primary care group with a dozen locations that are scaling very quickly. We hope our next transaction will be investing in a small platform of dermatology practices that we will rebrand under the Dermatologists.com brand.

5) Charter Membership: Our core membership for our investor club, the Family Office Club is called Charter Membership. We have over 1,000 subscribers made up of charter members and those who leverage our Family Office Databases, and we have raised our event quality and length, upgraded our member portal, and raised prices for 2023 to improve the quality of our membership. The stronger we make Charter Membership the better deal flow we have for our ultra-wealthy clients who make requests for specific asset types and opportunities to us each month.
6) PitchDecks.com: We have served over 200 clients and produced over 1,000 assets over time within our investor relations marketing agency - PitchDecks.com. We expect to double this line of business this year helping clients develop their websites, brands, one-liners, video assets, social media, PR, etc.
2 Personal Goals for 2023:
1) Become Ultra-Healthy - I want to be in the best health of my life by April 22nd, 2023. I have a 40-pound sand vest for hiking and walking, I'm still doing Orange Theory 2x a week, plan to run 2x a week, do hot yoga once a week, and lifting heavy weights at the gym 2x a week. I'm also coming up with a checklist of 30 ways to invest in your health, most of which cost very little, and doing every one of them myself and sharing that list with my ultra-wealthy clients and members. Investing in your health is the most important investment someone can make. Hoping to drop 12 pounds in Q1.
2) Adventure & Fun Travel Goals - I would always like each year of my life to be the most fun year of my life - and my family loves to travel. I plan on taking 4 guy trips this year backpacking and snowboarding, 4 trips just with my wife, 4 business trips where I bring a daughter with me to the conference, and 4 family trips. Some of these which are planned out are a sherpa-guided Everest basecamp 10-day trek in Nepal, taking my 6-year-old to an event in Kentucky in a few weeks, a guy's backpacking trip on the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island, and the Hoh Trail in Olympic National Park, camping with the extended family in the Sawtooth mountains, snowboarding at our InvestorResidences.com property in Park City, going to Portugal/Italy when it is 115 degrees here this summer in Scottsdale, etc.
I hope your new year is starting out great, and if you would like to share some of your company's or personal goals with our team to get to know each other better please reply to this email and do so, or share them with us at our next event in person. This year our investor club is hosting 15 live events, and a 2-day investor club summit every 3 months.
