2023, What a year, what a surprise!

In the year 2023, I encountered a spectrum of emotions and mental challenges that reshaped my professional trajectory. The decision to depart from what I once believed to be my calling and purpose was profoundly impactful. It was a deeply emotional experience, involving the difficult process of deciding to resign, navigating the responses from my cofounder and brother, and managing other personal challenges. This year has been a profound teacher, imparting invaluable lessons on the realities of running a startup, illustrating the potential hazards of becoming overly attached to one's entrepreneurial endeavors, and emphasizing the indispensable quality of resilience for any innovator.

As this year draws to a close, I officially conclude my tenure with MITz Kits (MITz Group Company Limited).

As this year draws to a close, I officially conclude my tenure with MITz Kits (MITz Group Company Limited). The journey began in Mwanza, where I arrived as a stranger and was graciously embraced as a brother by Mr. Wilson Mabala. Together, we endeavored to make a difference through our innovative capabilities. Initially lacking comprehension of the startup landscape, as a Telecom Engineer with electronics-based ideas, Mr. Wilson's unwavering support facilitated the transformation of these concepts into a startup reality.

The steadfast belief and tenacity of Mr. Wilson, along with the entire MITz Family, were remarkable. Together, we reached over 200 schools and positively impacted more than 10,000 primary and secondary students.

It was a fulfilling journey, bringing joy to children and instilling hope by supplementing their education with technology-driven solutions, particularly in STEM subjects, complementing the efforts of their dedicated teachers. Regrettably, I had to pivot and seek a different path, yet the journey was undoubtedly worthwhile.

My current focus is on a new venture dedicated to addressing the prevalent challenges of digital distraction and screen time imbalances among African children.

This endeavor aims to assist parents and caregivers in ensuring a balanced blend of playtime and screen exposure for their children. Recognizing the vital role this balance plays in children's mental health, physical growth, social skills, and academic performance, especially in alleviating learning poverty among Sub-Saharan African children

I introduce ChemCheemi, an afrocentered innovative solution—a screen-free, interactive audio edutainment platform—that leverages IoT and gamified learning to deliver personalized offline content and learning-through-play experiences for children.

Over the past six years, my observations have revealed that many Tanzanian children lack fundamental skills in literacy, numeracy, and STEM subjects by the age of 10. ChemCheemi stands as a simple and affordable, yet powerful system designed to address these educational challenges. I have initiated a pilot phase with ten units manufactured. I humbly seek your support to ensure this solution reaches and positively impacts as many children as possible.
