2023 Impact Report: Adelaide Fringe Sets New Records and Boosts South Australia's Economy

Adelaide Fringe, the renowned arts festival held annually in South Australia, has once again surpassed expectations and left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape. The recently released 2023 Impact Report reveals staggering figures that highlight the festival's immense success and its significant contribution to the state's economy.

The festival generated an impressive $105.5 million in expenditure for South Australia, a 40% increase from the previous year. With a line-up featuring 6,484 artists, 1,340 shows, and 517 venues, Adelaide Fringe distributed over $1 million in grants to support the arts community.

The festival attracted a record-breaking 4.5 million attendees, with one in every two South Australians estimated to have attended an event. Furthermore, the festival drew, 45,214 visitors to South Australia, resulting in 230,920 bed nights and an average spend of $3,420 per visitor.

Adelaide Fringe sold a remarkable one million tickets, becoming the first Australian festival to do so, with a total box office value of $25.1 million. The festival's success also translated into 9,813 job opportunities and the dedicated efforts of 140 volunteers.

Adelaide Fringe continues to enrich the local economy and cultural landscape, setting new benchmarks for future achievements.
