2023 Hot Sales Channels: Tested & Approved ?

Ahh a few days ago I caught cold, but finally today I feel better. I don't know why people don't share this kind of personal things, they would prefer saying different thing rather than being honest. Such as "day-off", "on-vacation" or I don't know tons of things. Sounds familiar?

It is for sales channels too. Sales professionals mostly use different methods but when it comes to talk or share the knowledge they say the same thing or cliche. For example, several weeks ago I published a poll and asked which social media channels worth to focus on most. Most of them said "Email doesn't work anymore", but and I also don't answer emails, neither no one answers me at all, no one around me answers to sales emails, nor gets answer from emails. However, there are a lot of people still using email as a sales channel and still, tons of professional share about cold emailing, writes about it.

I obsessed to prove that LinkedIn is the best for B2B sales. I checked all social media channels and got this results and I am sharing it with you:

This is how I obtained these results:

In Pickvisa.com , I reached out to travel companies on several social media channels, daily 25 companies for 2 weeks, 250 prospects:

  • LinkedIn
  • Facebook
  • Telegram
  • Whatsapp
  • Email

You may get quick responses on Facebook but it shouldn't be considered as this channel is good for selling. It is because companies' agents or customer service representatives answer you and this is their duties to answer all requests. As they are not decision-makers for your request, the conversation will be ended with directing you to someone else or "I will tell my boss, if they say okay, I will get back to you". So you wait, but no one gets you back. :/

Though you get quick response on Facebook, LinkedIn is in the best equilibrium, because you may not get quick response as on FB, but you will get positive answer if you targeted well.

What about Telegram and Whatsapp?

These two channels are better for the next steps of conversation. They may ask you for your number and they may contact you on any of those channels. There may be a chance that you find companies' Whatsapp or Telegram and wrote them, the scenario will be the same as it is on Facebook.

Keep in mind that these channels, except LinkedIn, are B2C channels.

It is being really hard to reach to decision makers, even it possible it takes a long time, because the representative will tell it to their lead, lead to manager, manager to head, head to director, director to .... it goes based on this hierarchy.

What about Email?

I don't want to talk about it. It is only works for post-sales or at-the-end-of-sales-closing processes. Shortly, email has nothing with sales.

Thus, LinkedIn is best tool to reach directly to decision makers of the companies. I reached to decision makers on LinkedIn with this message:

"Hey [Name],

I'm [Your Name] from [Your Company], [what your company does]. I just wanted to reach out to you seeing you in my professional network and chatting if there is anything could we do for partnering to provide [Your service for their company]"

I add this message inside of note of "Connect" button:

When you click "Connect" button, it gives you an extra "Add a Note" button, click it and add your personal note.

I am open and obvious on my messages. I don't want and don't play a word game. I directly propose my intention. If they really need it and want it, they will accept my request and will answer back to me.

Remember, you are reaching out to professionals, to people who know their field better and to decision makers, so act professionally.

This is what LinkedIn built is professionally for professionals.

Also, it is extremely easy to find leads on LinkedIn. Hey look, I know you may say there are a lot tools provide you with lead lists, no need LinkedIn. I tried almost all of them. Just one phrase:

"Old data"

However, LinkedIn always updates its data, how?

Because, LinkedIn is not a lead list platform. It is a platform for real, professional people. As we change our suits, as we eat our meals everyday, we keep our professional profile clear and update. As we eat meal on the table, we show our professionalism on LinkedIn. So, as we are updating our information on LinkedIn, it is being up-to-dated automatically, so no need to worry.

I won't talk about how LinkedIn Sales Navigator works, but it gives you several key components to make selling processes easy.

  • Filters - I feel as late night show DJ when I adjust filters ;) few click, data is ready
  • InMail - I feel like I am sending presidential decree to special person with this sophisticated tool
  • Viewed - Sales person like me, it is sometimes hard to remember whom you already reached out or viewed their profile or checked their information, it shows you who you already viewed

That's all, filter, click on a lead, send message and wait. That's all what sales process goes on LinkedIn. You expected tons of steps, right?

No need here. As I mentioned before, it is easy. Now, I am adding it is a short process too.

Hey listen, LinkedIn is no my company neither I get bonuses when I talk about it here. I just want you know that instead of wasting your time on other channels, just focus on this before your boss firing you due to poor sales pipeline, capeesh?
