The World Economic Forum released its 2023 Future of Jobs Report, giving us insight into how the global workforce is shifting and which skills will be sought-after in future jobs. Drawing upon over 32,000 employers spanning 50 countries, it offers an expansive view of organizational challenges and worker potential that organizations and workers face today.

Digital skills are increasingly crucial. 8 out of 10 employers surveyed said they planned on hiring more employees with these abilities in the future due to technological advancements such as AI, automation, and other forms of transformational technologies affecting how businesses function. As AI becomes an increasingly common part of daily operations, this trend will only become more prominent over time. There will be an important shift in job demand with over 97 Million new roles created within areas like cloud computing data science artificial intelligence, etc

The need for upskilling programs is also highlighted; 62% of employers stated their intent to invest in these programs in order to help employees remain competitive. Reskilling has become more necessary with increasing job complexity and technological innovation; therefore workers who do not participate may lose their employment.

There is a rising need for soft skills such as creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking in employees who wish to succeed in today's job market. 68% of employers reported looking for such traits when selecting new hires.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the majority of industries have experienced severe disruptions; however, it has also increased technology adoption, creating new job opportunities in emerging domains.

Cegid , CrossKnowledge , Haufe Akademie , Hive Learning , Skillsoft , Litmos , PeopleFluent , and many more become increasingly relevant as platforms to upskill or reskill employees become easier for companies to offer training to help employees adapt to this new jobs market.

The report highlights major shifts that have occurred in the global labor market and emphasizes the necessity for workers to develop new skills to remain competitive. Employers should invest in reskilling programs for employees in order to equip them with the skills necessary for success with soft skills and digital competencies becoming ever more vital as technology revolutionizes business operations.

Thomas Papp, MBA, MBL Thanks for sharing this important report. There are a number of studies about future of work challenges and all seem to agree on the importance of [1] technology/digital, [2] uncertainty (economic and social), and [3] human capability (people and organization) ... all 3 being equally important. this study reinforces digital and skills (?creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking). It is going to be exciting at the The HR Congress summit in Amsterdam to explore implications for how to define, assess, invest, and disclose human capability to deliver value to all stakeholders. I am so looking forward to participating and learning. Thanks Mihaly Nagy for inviting me to partner again with you!

The World Economic Forum report says, quote: "The impact of most technologies on jobs is expected to be a net positive over the next five years." Employment will increase. Here is my thesis why https://liberty-by-ip.blogspot.com/2023/04/debunking-doomsday-ai-predictions-how.html
