2023: Contributions, learnings & many more...

As we close 2023, I would like to reflect and share my contributions, learnings & take this opportunity to Thank my family, friends, colleagues & mentors who helped in every leg of this 365 days journey. Expect mentions and pointers to learning resources.

In my previous article published on substack, I shared my contributions through a list of technical articles - https://vidyasagarmsc.substack.com/p/2023-a-year-in-retrospective.

z to wazi

In the beginning of this year, I heard about wazi as a service and started exploring IBM zSystems. As part of this journey, I worked with the Wazi product team.

Resource : Z xplore is an interactive learning(gaming) experience that I loved and learned a lot. https://www.ibm.com/z/resources/zxplore

Security

Security comes in different colors and flavors. In 2023, I was fortunate to explore, learn, and design solutions with security as the prima facie. Building a private-only network design for one of the products with security at its heart was one of the many contributions I would cherish for rest of my career. I worked with multiple IBM Cloud products teams and this helped me in honing my Virtual Private Cloud & cloud network skills.

I explored Hyper protect crypto services (HPCS) and worked with the HPCS product team on mutliple collaborations.

Automation: from Terraform to Ansible

In 2023, one of my favorite tools that I learnt and loved exploring was Ansible. With Ansible, deploying a middleware is so simplified. I started writing playbooks and eventually moved my code to Ansible roles for reusability. Ansible along with Terraform will enhance the end-to-end cloud automation.

I even started publishing my Ansible learnings as a GitHub code repository - https://github.com/VidyasagarMSC/ansible-yaml-snippets.

AI

AI and Quantum are my interests for a couple of years now. With generative AI, my interest sky rocketed. I invested a lot of time this year in brushing up my AI and quantum skills. Be it Watsonx code assistant or understanding the usage of Telum processor or exploring Quantum Machine Learning (QML), it was a refreshingly researchful year.

Whenever I find an awesome resource that helped me in learning the skill, I add them to the appropriate repository. If you know any learning resources, don't hesitate to open a PR on the repo

?? Data Science - Awesome-DS

?? Quantum - Awesome-Quantum
