2023: A Business Resolution

As we begin to look into our 2023 resolutions, we might want to consider making employee retention a priority, but how do we do that? Think about how all the fancy leadership coaching and techniques are likely to fall short of our intended purposes unless we FIRST build and put into place the creation of a culture of mutual trust and respect, and then maintain that culture every day in every way rather than have our efforts fade away in?month or so like most New Year’s resolutions do. Certainly, not every employee will respond positively, and we might even lose a few as the culture changes, but most will generally respond in positive ways when they see that they are valued, both personally and professionally, and not simply nameless cogs in a large wheel. It has worked more times over the years than one can count, has most often increased the leader’s credibility, and as retention became a goal, sales, productivity, and profits usually increased
