Goals.
No Goals.
There are so many opinions on planning for an upcoming year as it pertains to this subject.
I have witnessed a shift away from goal setting as studies have actually shown that there is a part of the brain the acts as a protector and pushes one to resist change. The "gurus" on the subject are also divided on the subject matter adding fuel to which way to land.
Does this all mean you should not set goals or make changes? Not at all.
My opinion is that it just means that setting an arbitrary start date to do so is probably not as valid as an honest to good reason to set a goal. Magic dust targets and unicorn visions are usually nothing more than the reason you walk around cranky the second week of January because your best ideas are now another list of failures in your mind.
Want to make changes? Then do it. Set your targets and be unapologetic about it.
Don't want until beginning of the year of a quarter to start. Start today or whenever that goal hits you.
For me, these are the targets I realized I want to have in my life and have already started.
Have a few yourself? Please share.
