2023, Blink & it's gone!

Well, we are almost at the end of 2023, and wow, it's been a rollercoaster ?? of a year, with many twists and turns and I think we all can agree to putting the brakes on over the Christmas period. For me both personally and professionally it has been a year of change and stepping out of my comfort zone.

Quarter One - Started with a job on the rocks and much uncertainty, I was pushed in a direction that wasn't working for me and had more trips to Kent than hot dinners! It was a fairly turbulent time and I had started to set up Dancing Queen Admin Services initially as a side hustle however redundancy in early March suddenly pushed it to my main source of income.

I had my family bashing me to look for a job, my heart and mind torn between family and my gut knowing self-employment is the better route. Thankfully I listened to my gut and moved my heart around to I CAN DO THIS mindset! ??

Quarter Two - was all about marketing, deciding on services, getting clients (2), and proving myself! At the same time, my body was going through a heap of changes with starting HRT Oestrogen patches after fighting for years on a load of symptoms. The month of May brought the start of working for Think Unconventiall as an associate with one of my core services of LinkedIn Engagement (Community Management). Finally, some sunshine came in June to cheer us all up and another client was onboarded. I now knew I had made the right decision to set up my own business.

Quarter Three - I was cycling more, and enjoying what little summer ?? we had, then as my business started growing, I started to feel a little unwell. After a lot of fatigue, pain and bloating I was diagnosed with gallstones. ?? Thank god for being self-employed and working from home. September opened the door to another client with Facebook Group Admin.

Quarter Four - Fast-paced to Christmas with client work, an expo, a heavy marketing approach, showing up daily on LinkedIn with content and using IG and FB more. My gallbladder issues peaked in early November with cholecystitis and a round of strong antibiotics! I feel like the second half of this year has just disappeared. Blink and it's gone! I'm starting to build a little money in my business and have just finished the design for a roller banner and all being well I am looking to do a couple of local expos next year.

With 2024 just around the corner, I have been planning some business goals to work towards (look out for these soon). My personal goals are still to be set and will do these as ideas come as I get ideas and inspiration randomly from anywhere.
