2023 Annual Report Results
A few days ago, we presented our 2023 Annual Report, which contains the company's results and the top initiatives carried out by the Group's divisions last year. I am pleased to share the key indicators that exceeded everyone's expectations and reflect the excellent results that fill us with optimism for the future.
Thanks to the efforts and hard work of the more than 38,000 people who make up the Barceló Group, 2023 drew to a close with €6.7 billion in sales (17% more than last year) and a net profit of €193.9 million (14% more than in 2022) due to the hotel division's record results and the travel division's strong recovery.
In light of our national and international expansion plans, we have added 30 new hotels to establish ourselves as Spain's second-ranked hotel chain in terms of rooms—with over 65,000 in total—and more than 300 hotels in 28 countries.
The Annual Report also describes the company's progress in terms of its Barceló ReGen ESG strategy, which aims to have a positive impact on our destinations by contributing to the local economy and protecting people and the environment. It is worth noting that the sustainability standards that form part of the Ser Barceló corporate management system were verified in 2023 by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). This extraordinary recognition makes us the first Spanish hotel chain whose sustainability standards are backed by the GSTC.
One aspect that stands out is the priority of partnering with local companies to boost the destination's economic development. Specifically, 92% of our contractual agreements were signed with local suppliers. In addition to bolstering the local economy, 0 km sourcing has a lower environmental impact by reducing shipping emissions. In 2023, 30% of our suppliers were local.

We also received several national and international awards in 2023, making it an extraordinary year. We were once again named the World's Leading Hotel Management Company at the 2023 World Travel Awards, and Barceló Hotels&Resorts was the only Spanish brand included in the top 10 ranking for the strongest hotel brands in the world according to a report by the independent brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance.
We are also the leading hotel chain for fine dining in Spain, with seven MICHELIN Stars and 9 Repsol Suns, reinforcing our commitment to transforming Royal Hideaway hotels, our most exclusive brand, into culinary destinations by showcasing local haute cuisine and promoting experiential innovation.
2023 has been a year of achievements and recognitions that drive us to continue growing and contributing to regenerative tourism.
