As 2023 draws to a close, this is the perfect time to embark on a journey of reflection and goal-setting for the upcoming year.
Reflecting on 2023
Reflecting on the past year involves more than looking at the business finances. It’s a chance to think about the specifics of your business achievements—both big and small. Celebrate the successes, acknowledge the failures, and, most importantly, use the lessons you learned from the challenges. Understanding what worked, what didn't, and why, is the foundation for informed decision-making in the future. This reflection isn't just about your business; it's about gauging what your team can manage and knowing when to seek support from your trusted network of suppliers and partners.
Challenges and Opportunities in 2024
As we approach the new year, it's vital to look ahead. Predicting challenges and spotting opportunities will guide your business strategy for the coming year. Thinking ahead not only prepares you for unexpected shifts but also positions us to navigate change with purpose.
The ability to adapt to surprises is a crucial lesson from recent times. Events like the Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the uncertainty of the future. Being ready to adjust isn't just smart; it's a must. And embracing change isn't just about reacting; it's proactively turning challenges into opportunities.
In an ever-changing business world, handling change is a key to success. Having an agile mindset prepares us for the unknown and helps our businesses to thrive in unexpected situations.
The Role of Technology
Having the right technology in place is vital for building an agile business. Check your current tech setup: Does it seamlessly support your operations, or do you regularly struggle with bottlenecks and delays? Think about how it supports hybrid teams, especially in today's changing work setup. As you assess your current technology, you should also explore options that could enhance your operations and fit your business goals. It's not about the latest software, but what genuinely improves your business.
We're firm believers in tech that 'Makes Work Easy,' streamlining processes and supporting growth. Tasks should be quicker and simpler - think workflow and automation. Information should be well-organised, secure, and accessible to everyone, no matter where they are – think Document Management systems. The right technology should also reduce costs, enhance compliance, and simplify work, which in turn reduces stress for your team.
Strategic Partnerships and Support
In the interconnected world of business, partnerships play a pivotal role. From our own experience, becoming part of the Agilico Group has brought added value to YourDMS, benefiting our customers with access to new services such as managed print and telecoms.
Think about your current partners and suppliers - do they support your growth and align with your values? It might be time to think about creating new partnerships that can bring fresh perspectives and resources to the table and amplify your business impact.
Giving Back
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) isn’t just a buzz word; it's the way through which companies can achieve a balance of economic, environmental and social objectives. Take a moment to contemplate how your business can actively contribute and get involved. It's not just about ticking boxes; it's about embracing a genuine commitment to making a difference. Whether it's reducing your carbon footprint, supporting local communities, or championing sustainable practices, every action, big or small, adds to the collective effort of creating a more responsible and compassionate business landscape.
What are the Agilico Group doing?
The Agilico Group have recently taken a bold step and pledged to reduce our impact on carbon emissions head on and reach Net Zero by 2030. Agilico’s mission and our future growth strategy is underpinned by a dedicated focus on sustainability and supporting customers and suppliers to become more environmentally conscious. Some initiatives already in place include utilising electric and hybrid vehicles in our company car fleet, supported by the installation of EV charging points at our sites across the country, installing solar panels at several of our premises, and refurbishing our MFDs (Multifunctional Print Devices) to further reduce our environmental impact. You can find more information here. Look out for even more commitment to sustainability in 2024.

CharitySuper.Mkt – the shopping concept taking charity fashion to the next level
CharitySuper.Mkt is the UK's first ever shop space bringing multiple charities under one roof.
Headed up by Wayne Hemingway, founder of British fashion brand, Red or Dead and Hemingway Design, and Maria Chenoweth, CEO of the sustainable clothing charity, TRAID, CharitySuper.Mkt is taking charity fashion to the next level.
The 5 stores in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Oxford and Bristol offer a brand-new destination to shop with purpose, built on social and environmental good. Customers can shop the best of charity retail, from curated collections of fashion and accessories, all in one place. They can also bring items of high quality clothing and footwear with them to donate.
Shopping at Charity Super.Mkt ensures that every pound customers spend is a ‘good pound’, with their money going towards a range of brilliant causes. Proceeds go to local and national charities including AgeUK, Shelter, Marie Curie, Emmaus, Barnardos, Sue Ryder and Blue Cross. And so far, over £100 million has been raised!
On top of this, stores actively reduce carbon emissions, avoiding new production and supply chains through selling only second-hand fashion, and prevent tonnes of clothes going into landfill.
