We are living in the most exciting time in the history of humanity.?
Hardly a week goes by without some significant announcements in artificial intelligence, robotics, and computer models. This includes AI winning at almost any rule-based game, creating extremely impressive art, engaging conversations that are very sophisticated, writing essays, etc., as?recollected? by Elon Musk at?Tesla AI Day? , where he also revealed his fondness for history–?and said, ‘now is the best time to be alive.’
If history has to be told from a technology standpoint–the year 2022–has most certainly been a year of ‘?Text-to-Anything? ,’ or differently put, the year of ‘Text-to-Anything-and-Everything,’ or the year of ‘Generative Artificial Intelligence.’?
Last week, Google announced the launch of ‘?Imagen Video? ,’ a text-to-video generative AI model capable of producing high-definition videos from a text prompt. A few weeks before that, Meta announced ‘?Make-A-Video? ,’ an AI system that allows users to turn text prompts into short video clips. These are just some of the new developments in the text-to-video world.?
Wait, it gets more and more interesting. After ‘Make-A-Video,’ Meta also released ‘?AudioGen? ,’ an auto-regressive generative model that generates audio samples based on text inputs. Now, Google pushes it further by introducing?AudioLM? , an audio generation model that learns to generate realistic speech and piano music by listening to audio-only.?
There is no stopping now. The possibilities are endless –?we will not be surprised if Meta comes up with ‘Make-A-Wish’ soon.??
It all started with OpenAI releasing its text-to-image platform?DALL.E 2? earlier this year, followed by?Imagen? ,?Midjourney? ,?Stable Diffusion? , and others. The popularity of these platforms has gone beyond the ‘tech-savvy’ community; the?use cases are plenty? . For example, most of our creatives and design elements for our in-house event,?Cypher 2022,? were generated using Midjourney.
