2022 Year End Reflection

At the end of the year comes the opportunity to do an annual reflection. 2022 has been a very exciting year for me.?Retirement earlier this year provided the freedom for me to do what I truly enjoy. I have had more time to reflect, to learn, to explore, and to pursue other interests in my life with my family.?

After a nine month exciting journey, I am very close to the end of having my book published in a few weeks. The Odyssey of Self-Discovery: On Becoming A Leader will be out on Amazon and other platforms in the mid of January. I look forward to your support when the book comes out. The paperback version is being printed and will be available a few weeks later. For those of you who had pre-ordered my book, I will receive the books from the publisher, sign them, and personally ship them to you directly. Please be patient since the logistics will take some time, especially for many of the orders from outside of the US.?

Meanwhile, I am working with a publisher in China to get the book published in China. If anyone in the community has network for translating or publishing my book in other languages such as Spanish, Arabic, German, Japanese, and Korea, I would greatly appreciate it if you could reach out to me directly or help me to connect to the right organizations.?

During the year of 2022, I shared 57 issues of the weekly newsletter to the 279,000 of you who subscribe my newsletter. Thank you for your continued interests and support. Your continued reading and engagements are important for me to continue the endeavor. I would greatly appreciate any feedbacks on what you like about the newsletter and what you would like to read more.?

Even with the pandemic restrictions during the year, my family were able to visit Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Zion National Park, Arches National Park and many other fantastic national parks in the United States. We also had the opportunity to visit the Legacy Museum in Montgomery Alabama, the North Carolina Museum of Art, The Smithsonian Museums in DC, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Museums in Houston. In addition, we had the opportunity to visit Kenya for the first time and see the world renowned Masai Mara Safari, Amboseli National Park, and Lake Nakuru National Park.?We look forward to more exciting trips in the coming 2023.

After retirement, I have also had more time for exercises. Based on my Garmin record, I had a total of over 5.1 millions steps for the year which means about 14,000 steps a day for the year, with forty percent from running. I had a more disciplined training plan for my fourteenth marathon in two weeks in Houston and hoping to finish the Marathon in four hours.

I'd love to hear how you are and what you have planned for 2023. Happy New Year and all the best to you in 2023 and beyond! Thank you all for all your friendship and support.
