2022 - A Time for Change!

I started 2022, as I am sure most of you did, filled with cautious optimism. Vaccines had been rolling out for nearly a year globally, air travel was starting to normalize somewhat, and schools were slowly returning to, at least, partial in-person classes.
Then things started to unravel AGAIN! COVID numbers ebbed and flowed globally, Russia started the offensive in Ukraine triggering a global economic ripple effect still being felt, Shanghai was locked down for what seemed to be an eternity and the hits just kept coming. With all the madness in the US of late, I struggle to find the words. My heart breaks for everyone that has and is feeling the impact of these and other events.
During this time I have been winding down in my current position and preparing to relocate to China for the 5th time in my career as an educator! I am so happy to be joining the Western Academy of Beijing as the Middle School Curriculum Coach and IB MYP Coordinator. I started my overseas journey in 1999 in Beijing working at the Beijing Institute of Technology. Returning to Beijing is very special as I will be living there with my family and will be able to revisit places that opened my eyes so many years ago!
As I have been prepping for my new role in Beijing, I engaged in a few online, self-paced courses.
