Dear circular friends,

Looking back, we can recall years when we were spreading the word about the circular economy, informing people about the concept and being often addressed as “pioneers”, preaching about something that does not fit into the business environment. Particularly C-level people were?suspicious about the circular transformation, not recognising the potential for doing good business by implementing proposed business models.

The year 2022 can be recognised as a kind of turning point. Covid gave us a lesson, the war in Ukraine is forcing us to rethink our value chains as well as our resource efficiency, climate change is here – floods and fires are significant risks also for us in Europe.?On the EU level new measures and regulations?are adopted – from Ecodesign for sustainable products to the New EU sustainability reporting rules and much more. All of a sudden?everyone is interested in sustainability and circular economy.

Our Circular Change team is here?to assist you when you feel lost or overwhelmed. Count on us when you need a navigator on this bumpy road, an orchestrator for complex challenges, or?simply a friend to ask for advice.

ROADMAPS & STRATEGIES - PAVING THE WAY TO CIRCULAR TRANSFORMATION

We are continuing our circular economy roadmapping process in the Western Balkans. This year we successfully launched the?Roadmap towards the circular economy in Montenegro?as well as?the?National circular economy strategy?and action plan 2023/24. CIRCULAR DIPLOMACY IN ACTION – COLLABORATION WITH LEADING INTERNATIONAL THINK TANKS

Circular Change joined?the Chatam House’s?(the Royal Institute of International Affairs based in London)??“A Global Roadmap for an Inclusive Circular Economy”?initiative. More than 140 global stakeholders already expressed their interest to take part.?Watch?the video?Stockholm+ 50 UN Conference.

As contributors to?the Retail Community 5.0?led by?The European House – Ambrosetti?(consulting and think tank operating since 1965) we participated in the shaping of the project as well as contributed to the communication of results – they were presented also during the?16th Strategic Trade Conference in Slovenia.

100+ CITIZENS OF SLOVENIA ENGAGED IN 4 PSL LIVING LABS?

A tool to calculate your personal carbon footprint has been finetuned in collaboration with PSL Ambassadors – citizens who actively participated at 4?PSL Living Labs?during 2022. PS Lifestyle is EU Project led by SITRA, 8 pilot countries are engaged,?Slovenia isrepresented by Circular Change & City of Ljubljana. HE FIRST INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL ON CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN LJUBLJANA

In July 2022, the?International Summer School at the University of Ljubljana, School of Business and Economics, ran the first edition of the course Shaping circular economy (supervision by Professor Dr. Maja Zalaznik).?Circular Change team designed and led the course based on several workshops and side visits that enabled students to experience?circular economy in practice.
