With its twists and turns, 2022 was an exciting year. We had successfully conquered a unique set of external and internal challenges, many new to us. Read this update to learn the year-end highlights and glimpses of the future.?
Keeping up with the times
Data protection authorities’ post-Schrems II decisions on Google Analytics and the short timeline for UA (GA3) sunset turned many of our plans for 2022 upside down. We made significant sales, comms, marketing, and product roadmap updates to best address those game-changing events. Writing this in December, I can confirm that it was worth it. We grew our recurring revenue by over 40% year-to-year and beat all our sales and marketing targets.
Core rocks!
After some fine-tuning in 2022, the free Core plan performance exceeds our expectations. We’re creating around 1,000 new Core accounts a month. Our freemium plan boosted product adoption and brand awareness. It is becoming a steady new channel for customer acquisition.
A year of fine-tuning
It was a year of further optimization and expanding the possibilities of Piwik PRO Analytics Suite. Now our platform is ready to handle traffic from the biggest banks and telcos and we’re able to deliver product updates every two weeks.????

Sticking to our values
After a year of hard work, Piwik PRO Analytics Suite is now SOC 2 type II-certified. The process was long and arduous, but there are no cutting corners when you're serious about privacy and security. And Piwik PRO is always serious about that.

A big thanks to all of you actively contributing to the Piwik PRO community (2k posts in its first year). We're incredibly proud of all the people sharing their analytics knowledge through our official forum, creating Piwik PRO-related content and dropping a good word about our software on social media. Betting on partners
Partners can be a significant component of a company's success. Geared with cultural and market-specific knowledge, they can ease the stress of working with a foreign vendor. In 2022, the partner channel was already responsible for 15% of Piwik PRO’s new clients, and this channel is growing very dynamically.??
2023: Beyond the analytics suite
With a new focus on integrations, data imports and activation via our revamped CDP, Piwik PRO is starting to become something more than just an analytics platform. Our product will fit seamlessly into any marketing stack, enhancing its performance.
For many years, our main goal was to become one of the leading Google Analytics alternatives. There are many signs that it’s happened this year. With our plans for 2023, we’ll be walking a bit of a new path with Piwik PRO. I can’t wait to see what happens.
